I was gonna cross the ball but then i got high

I was gonna run right down the wing but then i got high

Then i was subbed for VDM and i know why

Because i got high because i got high because i got high

Cahill has gone past being one dimensional. He brings something to the team that hardly any players have these days. Something different, i reckon he would fit into Arsenal's or Liverpool's team easy. Arsenal could do with someone like him.

Obviously we know Arteta and Yakubu would.

Pienaar suits a team like Everton. I don't think he's quite good enough to play week in, week out for a top 4 team but he'd certainly be a good squad player for Arsenal. Wenger does like him as a player too and tried to take him to Arsenal.

I disagree to be honest, Cahill would be competing with the likes of Deco, Gerrard, Fabregas and Lampard at teams like Liverpool.

He's not better than any of the players mentioned, he doesn't score as many goals as the likes of Gerrard and Lampard and he isn't as creative as the Fabregas' and Deco's of this world.

Very good player but not quite good enough to start week in week out for a top four club.

unfair comparison for me.

gerrard and lampard both have freekick and penalty duty bolstering their goals scored stats.

cahill is second striker material that occasionally gets back into the 'point' of midfield to do some harassing and cajoling.

there is a reason moyes was looking at alan smith, because smith is the player in the league i most closely identify with the cahill model.

as for pienaar, he was rosickys replacement at dortmund when he (rosicky) was sold to arsenal for £7 million wingwangs.

pienaar for 2.2 mill, or rosicky for 7 mill?

no contest.

Even without penalities Gerrard and Lampard score more goals. Gerrard played as a second striker last season and scored 20 odd goals, the best Cahill gets is 10-12.

In terms of all round ability and what they bring to the team Gerrard and Lampard also beat him in that area. All in all they are much better players to be honest and Cahill wouldn't get in ahead of them.

On Alan Smith, he would have been a useless signing. A Cahill model? Cahill scores goals, Alan Smith doesn't.

Rosicky is also a better player than Pienaar, we got a much better price for Pienaar but Roskicky is better.

Arteta, Yakubu and possibly Joleon Lescott are top four week in week out material for me.

I really wanted to see Rosicky in an Everton shirt years ago but don't blame him for going to Arsenal.

A class player when healthy.

He is a cut above Pienaar.

Am not really talking about Chelsea or United to be honest. I agree, he would have no chance infront of them.

Liverpool are much better with Torres up on his own and someone supporting him, like Kuyt did last season. That's where Cahill could slot in.

When they play 4-2-3-1 though Gerrard supports Torres, he scored 20 odd goals a season and created 20 odd. Cahill's excellent in that position but Gerrard is a level above. I hate to say it but he is.

Kuyt played on the right wing alot of the time.

Yer true, forgot that.

but moyes's system just works with cahill in it!!

im not saying that cahill is the "nuts" but he fits the system that we are most comftable with!

last season we started [Poor language removed] cahill comes back then we dont lose till round about crimbo! and carry on getting the results till he get injured again!!

im not saying he is better or worse than anyone but he makes are team/system tick!! imo!
