I didn't even consider the likes of Dean, Hickson and Lyons as they're all local lads and figured the list was of players who came from other parts and absorbed the ethos of the club.

As we are not talking about legends here but about players who got it, im gonna throw a funny one in and say graham stuart. I always got the impression when i heard him talk of everton that he knew how special the club is and how lucky he was to be a part of it. Throw in the fa cup and that wimbledon game and i think theres enough evidence to suggest stuart 'understands'.

Have to say I really don't rate this thread as others seem to. In fact I was a little bit disappointed given the title. A strange one, but we all have different ways of expressing Everton I suppose.

When it said started by me, you set yourself up for a fall by contemplating it might actually be worthwhile reading.

Yeah, that. Defo that.

I know afew who most certainly DID NOT GET IT.

Nick DIE DIE Barmby being one.

However, the ones that didn't are outweighed by the ones that do get it.

In a similar vein I'd say Ian Snodin. So unlucky with injuries, on the verge of an England spot when he got a major one. Still around and talks so highly of the club. Sharpy is another.

I've missed loads there. Young, Harvey & Dean are three really good shouts, I did consider Unsworth & Neville but in the scheme of things I don't bought they get it, but not like the names on the list.

As for the Dean thing, I'm sure he did but I don't know a great deal about the man if I'm being fair.

Dean used to get the tram to and from the games with the fans, they'd ask him on the tram if he was gonna score (and he usually did).

He used to bow sartorially in front of the kop after scoring against them. (apparently it drove the mad)

Died at Goodison Park.

He's the first name in the ledger mate.

Nearly all the players were part of the community then mate, I don't doubt he got it but thems different times.

Every list has got Dean on it at some point or other so you're probably right.

Arteta would probably get felt up if he got public transport to the ground.

this is why he's behind bulletproof glass on the team bus, with a chico proof chastity belt bolted round his meat and 2 veg.
