Wenger's proposed rule changes

The offside rule change he proposes is fine by me. The others nah.
The offside rule is ridiculous and will change the game completely. Teams won't play for offside and will just drop deeper. Wenger should stay well clear, the problem isn't the rule, it's the anal application of it. VAR is awful, but I think they should watch it back in real time or at worst half speed and if they can't tell for sure with the naked eye, give the benefit of the doubt and award the goal.

Football back then was too slow and the introduction of the back-pass rule helped to change the game in a positive way.
I'll give you the backpass rule - that was an acceptable one. But slower? Fast is not always better. For all the peds and physio, the brain doesn't work BETTER.

Think your looking into that a bit too much, they still have to be in line, so it's not a dramatic difference. It will help create a few more goals though and that makes it more interesting. It's the same rule for both teams.

I would say I would change his wording slightly so as long as you can draw a line and that passes through both players torsos even if it's only part then you are onside.

It was slower. I've watched matches from the late 50s onwards and it was slower compared to today.

His proposed change to free-kick situations was said to be the option of quickly playing a "free-kick to yourself".

Thoughts?

Which is what you can do in rugby with regard to a penalty for as long as I can remember (and that's a long time!)

So?
British football is always said to be faster than European, yet for some reason people drool over European football yet the world is told (by sky) that English football is to be idolised.

Does fast make it better?

Slow is boring, that's my opinion and your opinion is the opposite :)

Perhaps I am, I'd still prefer not to find out being on the other side of the fence!

I just don't think defenders would even bother trying to catch people offside because the swing is too far the other way.
Strikers will constantly be moving in advance of the defender, who I'd expect would then want to get back goal side.

The change of wording to yours would be far better as I still think defenders would play for offside.
