So if we can't have PNE in the playoff final, I'll take Burnley instead. Founder members of the league, Jimmy Adamson and all that.

I've got fond memories of going to Turf Moor in the sixties. In one match, Ray Wilson executed the best slide tackle I ever saw, right in front of me as I stood at the front of the terrace, near the touchline.

And then Bally scored a penalty to put us through to the next round of the cup.

So well played Burnley. Those two goals last night were both sublime...I'll be hoping for a victory for you in the final...

Well done Burnley.

Reading played them off the park in the first half but their lack of goals (scored 3 in the last 8 home games i think) came back to haunt them.

We had a good day out there in the 1977-78 season (i remember they had absolutely the worst meat pies ever). The OB were pretty heavy handed but i can't say i blame them really.

Burnley have had fabulous away support this season.

Think Sheff Utd may have too much for them in the final though.

Looking forward to WHU v Sheff Utd next season......

I'd like to see Burnley come up, they used to be a really good team when I was a kid - Leighton James and Dobbo, great players.

Posted via Mobile Device Would love to see them go up, remember them from my teenage years as a top flight club, (34 years apparentley since they were in the old first division) . Hope they make it.

Jags will be facing his old club next season me thinks.

But well done Burnley, those two goals were screamers. I like it when teams hit the prem for the 1st time, it'll be the best feeling you've had as a fan for years when you see top players at your ground. Also gives anyone in the Championship a boost to say they can do it.

Burnley eh ?
Bob Lord, Lancashire County Cricket Ground behind the stand, team from yesteryear, ahh the memories feel like yesterday.
went with some mates to watch wigan there in the old 4th division, getting legged before the game, pelted with stuff all the way through, legged all over burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrnli after. grown men chasing schoolkids............cant catch me you fat tw@s, hiding round a corner then when they arrived all of us appearing with 4x2's from an alley, lets see you run now fellas, twenty 14 year olds stickin' it to 'em good style. great memory of childhood that.

I'm pleased for Burnley. I would have picked PNE for obvious reasons, but today it was all about Burnley for me. Good to have a team from the north west come up as well.

It's almost like old times. Stoke, Blackburn, Bolton, Burnley, Portsmouth all in the topflight after long absences.

Let's finish the job: I'd swap Chelsea, Hull and Wigan for Huddersfield, Nottm Forest and Preston any day. Let's get back to pre-war days!! Chamberlain out!!

And Lancs is back to being the heartland of footie - just as it should be. I don't hate the barcodes but you can stick that up yer Blaydon Races, Northeasterners...
