No, not moaning. I was just highlighting a point made by the acting CEO of the club about sale of players under this regime that tends to undermine any belief that we haven't needed to sell in the recent past.

I thought so but just needed to have conformation :D

The thing with Rooney, Johnson and i'd say pretty much everyone we have sold recently is that they either wanted to go or we got a good fee for them and used it to buy better players.

Thats not true in every case of course but we most definatly haven't had to sell our best players against their (and the clubs) wishes solely to provide funds for new players.

I know there isn't a huge world of difference but doing good business by selling average players isn't the same as selling our most expensive star players just to raise cash.

Rooney was certainly a one off though, as (hopefully) proven by all offers for the likes of Lescott and Arteta being turned down.

Wayne Rooney saved Everton Football Club not Bill Kenwright.

It shows how bad things have become when a chairmen is praised for turning down none existant newspaper created bids for our best players.

Be fair, not selling a player in a transfer window would be an achievement for Bill.

Bill on the subject of takeovers three weeks ago:

"Our search goes on. I sort of know why it hasn't happened yet. In the main, the economic climate for the last few months means no one has got the money to invest in football. Right now that is the biggest reason.

Well done Mr Kenwright.

You done the same with Newcastle.

"Look, 55 tycoons want to buy Newcastle..."

What happened there?

Only the other day you claimed it was Kenwrights fault for letting the takeover era pass us by? Agreeing with Kenwright regarding economic reasons? But now another bit of speculation regarding a takeover and you home right in on Kenwright :lol:

Anyway, other club potential takeovers already being discussed here;
