Through his own admission, he may not have the money to take us to the next level, but even if you dislike the man, he is ensuring stability is kept.

Priced out of market: Man City in transfer turmoil - Transfers, Football - The Independent

Seven down: The City targets who proved to be out of reach
Kaka Most high-profile target. Deal collapsed earlier this week.
Lassana Diarra City put off by £6m agent fee. Moved to Real Madrid instead.
David Silva Combined price of £128m for him and Villa cooled City's interest.
Mikel Arteta Inquiries but no bid forthcoming after being warned off by Everton.
Gianluigi Buffon Juventus goalkeeper remains off limits, even come the summer.
Joleon Lescott Same as with Arteta – Everton did not want to do business.
David Villa City may return for the Valencia striker, but doubtful whether he would leave Spain.

Rubbish.

He should of sold both of those players and even tried to get City to take Cahill off our hands.

Disgraceful piece of "business" by Kenwright, he is ruining this club by not selling our best players.

The sooner he just walks away and we get picked up by some rich international gun runners and dethrone that team from Manchester the better (no not United at the top of the table but City as the biggest laughing stock in the game).

KENWRIGHT OUT.

Very true Bruce. City is taking the riches approach. I like finding and getting young gems and turning them into quality. We have done well so far. Hopefully every now and them stir in a little experience and walla a very compettitve team.

Graveson was on the cusp of dropping off and we got decent value for him.

And then what? With our best player gone we would be like blackburn! Fighting at the wrong end of the table trying to stay in the league. Rather have no money but a reasonable season, looking to get into europe than going down and doing a Charlton or Saints.

As much as i'm pleased that he turned furious over it. It should be expected that a club of our position should be turning down bids for their best players.

It's quite indicative that we havn't lost a player we didn't want to since Graveson.

Moyes wasn't for selling Johnson and then the script changed in a turbulent summer so he could add that cash to the McFadden money for a replacement plus the two loan deals.

Remember 'we didn't want to sell Rooney' either, but then Mr Elstone admitted in his public inquiry evidence that this was one of the necessary means for funding squad renewal.

6.3.9 The skill of the current manager David Moyes has played a key part in this success, however the Club has been financially stretched to provide the manager with the required funds to invest in the playing squad (primarily through the increase of the Club’s borrowings, disposal of fixed assets, including the Megastore and Netherton, and sale of Wayne Rooney).

Well done Bill.

So now your saying its BKs fault that Rooney left? Theres bending facts and then theres downright [Poor language removed]. I think we both know which camp your claim falls into.

I think some people should bite their tongue or even maybe bite the bullet and give alittle praise to Old Bluffer Bill on this one . I am sure he could have opened talks about both players had he wanted too and I am equally sure he would have got fantastic money for them both with maybe another decent player coming back this way from City . He didnt and I respect him for that . Shows once again that we have a chairman who respects the manager and a manager that respects his chairman . For that small blessing we should be glad .

No, I'm saying that we need to view the sale of Johnson through the prism of club policy to back the manager by disposal of existing squad members in order to bring other players in...as per the testimony of Robert Elstone.

Im 99.99% Sure he was joking mate.

Yeah. I was doing my Davek impression.

Although i'm not sure if it was any good or not cause i can't tell if he is moaning about Bill or not in this thread.

I mean chances are he is but it wasn't like the Davek of old, no fury or anger directed at good old Bill.

Maybe Dave is starting to like Bill now haha.

Well done Bill.

AJ was sold because he wanted to go and was missing the Saarf. Moyes didnt want a disgruntled player on his books

No, not moaning. I was just highlighting a point made by the acting CEO of the club about sale of players under this regime that tends to undermine any belief that we haven't needed to sell in the recent past.
