Set pieces used to be our only way of scoring under Dyche. Now it’s just a way of helpful passing possession back to the opposition

….probably more to do with McNeil being injured.
Mix it up then, if you’ve only got one member in the squad who can consistently deliver a corner to the back post without it going out of play then you need to use some imagination or have more than one way of setting up for a corner. We’ve seen absolutely nothing, no invention or creativity whatsoever not even a flick on at the near post. There are loads of ways to get the ball where you want it.

…Keane scored from a McNeil corner at Fulham.

Tarkowski being out must also impact as he invariably is the one who gets on the end of our set plays.

We need a set piece coach that's cocky enough to stand up at a corner, march to the side of the pitch pushing Moyes aside before making hand shapes. It's all the rage these days

It's a tactical/analytical role and that's the sort of person we want tbh, someone who stands up and takes control of each situation and has a pre-rehearsed routine they can direct to the players. Just because you may have swung a few free kicks in the top corner as a player doesn't make you a good set piece coach, there is a bit more too it than that.
