Welcome Charlie Adam

You do realise he cant teach footballers how to strike a ball properly.

Our delivery from set pieces has been horrific, all the planning in the world doesnt matter when the ball is struck poorly.

I often wonder about that… the amount of time spent on working on ball striking in golf but in football we just work out ourselves…

I think it's safe to say he's absolutely useless at whatever it is he's supposed to be doing with the set pieces.

We are absolutely crap at them
Bring back dyche as set pieces coach. Honestly only part of the game we have gone backwards. We used to be so dangerous with tark and Branthwaite on corners...maybe we don't have good ball delivery. Hopefully with mcneill on his way back, that side could improve a bit.

We've replaced "float it to the far post to Tarky to try and head it back across the goal" on every corner with "play a low ball towards one player on the near post who has no chance to actually do anything with it."
Genuinely shocking to be worse than Woany and Stoney on this stuff.

If u watch some of the crossing drills they do in training it's no surprise they're crap at it. They practice crosses where Mykolenko is under no pressure and there's no defenders marking the strikers...I've still seen them fail to get a cross in to the 2 free strikers in the box.

Dreadful.

I've no idea why the Gwladys Street get their hopes up when there's a corner. It's a piece of piss for any defence to clear it.

Just work it short or try knocking it way over beyond the far post and drag a set defence out of their comfort zone.

It's not rocket science...well, it is to some Dunderhead from Dundee.

When you think about it, being able to take a free kick (which Charlie Adam certainly could) is a million miles away from being able to coach free kicks.

All you need to do as a taker is have the technique to carry out either the common sense option or the one you’ve been told to by the coaching staff.

Formulating the tactics of a free kick isn’t the job of the taker - so why should they be any good at coaching a team in that respect?

I personally never understand why we need a set Piece coach. A stiker coach etc. All these types of things should be a natural thing to a footballer. Having one wont mean we suddenly start doing things we didnt do before etc. Infact watching Arsenal's set pieces is getting annoying as they wont stop showing their one in charge like hes the greatest thing to happen, even when half of them are rubbish and look stupid

We didn't. It wasn't broken so what and try and fix that side of our play?

This was a job handed to Moyes' mate and neighbour...putting a few quid in his pocket.

I sincerely hope that's a cost cutting saving in the summer...or let Moyes pay his wages.
