If we don't sort our defense out (which I am sure we will do), but if by any chance we are stuck with the same central defenders then yes I do

Unless we get at LEAST 4-5 new players of good PL quality, we will be lucky to finish in the 10-15th place region.

If rumours are true it looks like Mina and Digne will be signed up in the next week and there are plenty of less certain links with other players so I wouldn't be surprised if we see a total of 4 or 5 new signings who will all fit straight in to the starting 11. It's going to take at least 4 or 5 games to get the team playing the way the manager wants them to and that's being optimistic. Personally I'd be happy with a 7th place finish as long as we're showing signs of improvement over last season and a way forward for the following season.

Pickford was probably our only successful signing of last summer. Richarlison certainly has the potential to be successful so if we can have a far better success rate this time round I think we'll be ok, not doing great, but ok.

Not remotely bothered where we finish, within reason, as long as there's signs of us playing decent football, buying well, getting shut of dross and bringing the squad age down.

If you finish anywhere between 8th and 15th then it's because you're one of those sides who aren't good enough to consistently win matches. And if you can't consistently win then you're league position is pretty much down to who messes up, who gets a shock win or two when a good side doesn't turn up, when they do it and who they do it against.

We currently have 7 players in our whole squad who in my opinion are Premiership standard: Pickford, Coleman, Baines, Gueye, Siggy, Walcott & Richarlison. The remaining players are championship at best, and that is where we will be playing next season if we do not add a few Premiership standard players in key positions i.e. central defence and a goalscorer.

Rubbish. Niasse, DCL, Schneiderlin, Holgate, Keane, Lookman, Bolasie, Davies and Mccarthy would get into almost any team that finished below us. Some even to clubs which finished above us.

If you're going to go down that path you may as well start naming half the starting teams of every club that are not top 6.

I do love people saying loads of our squad is "championship level at best" (Which along with calling people a fraud is one of the most annoying current phrases) when they came 8th last season and have came in roughly the same place the past couple of seasons.

They are obviously not championship level at best then are they? 8th place at best maybe...
