We should be replacing McFadden

Bainsey

Player Valuation: £20m
In January our main target should have been a striker to replace McFadden, yet we didnt replace him but now were selling another forward>?!

Anichebe isn't a Premier League striker and whenever i hope Vaughan will make it, he gets crocked again.

Selling Johnson to find the cash for Moutinho isn't the answer as we need another two forwards aswell as midfielders.

Rubbish, McFadden was a squad player at best. How do we replace a squad player? Well we can promote from within, which is what we are doing.

He was still a player who came in and scored some absolute crucial goals.

Do we sell another striker to fund a £20m move for a midfielder?

Still Ghost whether you rated him or not we still needed a extra body in for him. Bainsey is right Vaughan on his day is everything we expect but how many injuries is he going to sustain. He has a dark cloud over his head. Anichebe at the moment has slid a bit in desire. Hopefully the new season will kickstart him.

Anichebe is good in europe because of his strength, hes done nothing in the Prem as of yet because the defenders in this league can more then match his physical aspects.

exactly, thank you!

its absurd, we're down to 3 strikers, to of whom are under 20 years old, and our main objective is another midfielder...

How do you know it is to fund the Moutinho bid? Relying on Papers like the Sun?

McFadden was useless, a waste of space really. We've got two or three midfielders who can play the second striker role, Osman, Pienaar and Cahill all spring to mind. If where lacking in numbers upfront they can always fill in. Even Moutinho can play in the hole is needed.

AJ's replacement will do me and I'm confident Moyes will get someone in. Darren Bent or Ebanks-Blake would be nice, both young pacy strikers with alot of potential.

I think Vaughan will get over his injury problems this season and I do think Victor will contribute more. Both are capable of scoring goals as they've proved in there short careers and both are useful backup.

Our favored formation is 4-5-1 so 4 strikers is enough. Yakubu, Vaughan, AJ's replacement and Victor will be enough. Obviously we have Cahill there aswell and Pienaar and Osman at a stretch.

Then who do we play in midfield?

What if Yakubu gets injured? Do we then play Osman/Cahill/Pienaar upfront with another one supporting them?

Who is AJ's replacement?

Anichebe is an awful awful premier league footballer.

I agree if we patchwork at the start of the season. God help us. We have to entertain a forward now with experience. Plus two midfielders. Surely with the faddy and AJ money we can get some quality.

The jury for me is still out on Vaughan's injury bugs and Anichebe's history in the prem. Not something we can bank on just backing up Yak. There has to be a simple solution and Davey has it all in the works.

I think Moyes will bring in around 3 midfielders so we should have options there too. Moutinho, a defensive midfielder and another one.

I'm confident we'll get someone in. Maybe Darren Bent or someone like that. Moyes isn't stupid, he knows where light upfront and he'll get someone in. I have trust in him.

If Yakubu gets injured AJ's replacement, James Vaughan or Victor Anichebe can come in and do a job. Judging by his record Yak doesn't get injured alot though but even so he'll have backup.

Victor isn't an awful awful player at all. He's far from the finished article yes but he's proven he can do a job. Look at his record: 10 goals in 19 starts. For a truly awful awful footballer that's quite a good record, it's actually a very good goals to game ratio.

We'll have backup, I'm confident of that.

How many weeks is it till the start of the season exactly?

We signed Yakubu at the end of the transfer window last time.

Anichebe rarley starts and scores his goal as a substitue so if we put in his substitue appearances.

it reads.

67 games 10 goals. [5 goals in the Prem]

1 goal in 27 appearances in the league last season.

Doesn't look so good now.

No but every blue "£12m towards moutinho, sound lad"

That money should go towards buying a top class striker.

Why? So we can have them on the bench? We don't need another striker to sit on the bench. We need creative inspiration coming forward. How many strikers to Man U have? and how many of them play as out and out strikers?

Tevez? Rooney? Ronaldo? All three of them could well be considered as attacking midfielders, forwards - not strikers.

We need forwards, not just strikers. No disrespect, but McFadden did [Poor language removed] all for us. The odd wonder goal, but nothing else. How the hell we made 5m on him, I will never know.

If selling AJ means we are going to acquire Moutinho, then I would be [Poor language removed] grateful that the manager is looking to improve his squad. So what if most of our strikers are youngsters. There keen and less likely to be pissed off at being on the bench week in week out.
