Forest have the best manager for this position. Would rarher have dyche then the leeds and west ham mangers right now. Not sure Dyche is the right man for forest fans. The fans now believe they are a top club and want to play pretty footy.

I created this thread when Nottingham Forest were doing really well last year and were in contention for a top 4 finish, since then they have hired a manager who we had and there was a strong divided opinion about, I think the way things unfolded, Dyche arguments was a natural progression for this thread.

Yeah and i fully enjoyed it before.
But to see i have become part of the issue isn't a good sight..

Maybe they don’t think they should be in “this position” having assembled a £400m squad and qualified for Europe last season? This isn’t a relegation battling squad, if they’re still in a relegation battle come February then Dyche will deservedly be sacked for doing a poor job.

Farke has actually shown adaptability this season and has made Leeds much harder to beat, he gets teams promoted as well. He’s a better manager than Dyche imo. Some Forest fans are now pining for Nuno again after watching Seanyball.

I see them (forest) a bit like keegans newcastle, a bit of pace on the wings and some presence up front. Only Ferdinand is Gibbs-White and an AM. The problem they have is with no shearer (wood) the rest of the side is without focus. They cashed in Elanga and got Hutchinson and Ndoye and Bakwa in. So they gave themselves similar options and enough legs to carry europe and plug on in the league but they didn't cover wood properly. Now they're struggling to score it puts pressure on the defence to tighten up. I wonder who it was that recommended Dyche because it must be someone that remembers his side built on Ashley Barnes. We had Dyche for nearly two years, we didn't play expansive, quick, tricky, imaginative football once. We were a grindhouse side that'd work hard to smother games and choke the opposition of time and space. Granted a factor in this is the player leftovers from regimes previous that he had to hodgepodge a team out of. He only signed an 18 month contract there. It smacks of the caper Moshiri pulled with allardyce.

@ForestAreMagic complain to the PGMOL about that you detestable povert-chanting reptiles.

Sorry just seen this. I said a few months ago on here that I detest ‘sign on’ and similar chants and happy to repeat this. Most Forest fans agree with me (despite the embarrassing ones you recently heard). You’ll have perhaps seen the stand against poverty chanting taken by our supporters club at Anfield several times since we got promoted, and by NFFC at our match v you last week. Work to do though.

Perhaps there’s a broader discussion about what should be sung in a football ground in 2025 and how we should all engage with each other particularly online. Maybe you’re right that I’m a reptile and a scab but I think I’ve contributed politely on this board and expressed my genuine admiration for Everton.

As it happens I’ll be at the HD in a couple of weeks with my extended family who are all Everton fans. They’ll be roasting me for Forest being on our way down (and we are) but we won’t be getting political and we’ll be having a few beers in Liverpool afterwards.

All the best - pleased to see you having a better season.

I think we all know we’re a medium sized club but have been surprised the set pieces haven’t been far better under Dyche and that we didn’t show far more imagination v you and Fulham.

We’re happy to stay up however we achieve it, but long-term definitely need to be playing more like we did under Cooper and Nuno.

FWIW I think we’ll drop. West Ham will
improve and the others are a long way ahead of the bottom 3

Surely we can all agree that Dyche was probably the right man for the right time. He was brought in to give us some stability, which he did. He has been brought in to Notts Forest to bring in some stability, which apart from some misgivings, he is doing. The only thing I hav reservations about him on isnthat he threw in the towel. He quit. He gave up. Thankfully we replaced him woth somebody who is a step up. Is Moyes the right person for us now? probably, Dyche right for us then? Probably. Are either right for us to get where we want to get? Probably not.

Forests squad is far better than what he was given at Everton, so if he doesnt keep them up it has to be seen as a massive failure.

IMO.

Dyche will be good for keeping you up this season. Long term he not the right guy. His footie is painful on the eyes. Good luck

No starting goalkeeper in the Premier League this season has conceded 2+ more times than Areola. It's happened 11 times.

Watch Dyche deploy defensive tactics v West Ham with all his shiny new attacking talent :hayee:
