"We need to move from Goodison"

Goodison is our home. If we leave it will be bulldozed and turned into a retail park. That isnt right to me.

I couldnt watch us anywhere else
Clubs eventually have to move on, unfortunately one day that will be us. For the financial side of it, it would make sense. I would miss Goodison deep down.

Just ask Man City fans what it felt like to leave Maine Road, Maine Road is like a stadium to them like Goodison is to us. Except Goodison has been around for longer.

Bar Man City, no club had benefited from a stadium move. Clubs who develop their existing stadium have tended to be successful.

I'd say Brighton are an example of how a new stadium can be a positive thing, Doncaster Rovers and Hull as well. Obviously not on the scale of City but both clubs are miles better off.

Darlington are the obvious example of a club that have gone completely to sh*t with a move.

Brighton are an exception to the rule as they were essentially homeless. Donny and Hull, yeh fair enough, but both also suffered from financial trouble too

Always remember, lads, Goodison is only our home because the rent at Anfield was increased :)

I am in love with Everton Fotball Club......and much as I love going the Old Lady, I only love it because Everton play there.

If for some reason EFC moved back to Anfield in the morning I would still go to practically every home game.

So I have no problem with re-locating to a new ground.

The only thing I would love is that if we ever do get a new stadium, it is built to look distinctive and not be one of those horrible indenikit stadia we see at Middlesboro, Arsenal, Manchester City etc.

Your most probably right tbh, redeveloping Goodison would be almost impossible as we would have to figure out a plan what would happen to the properties surrounding the ground.

Sunderland are in a better position too.

Bolton were until they gambled, spent big and lost.

I don't believe that. I bet world-class architects could do something

Arsenal ?

They haven't won a trophy since their move and the cheapest season ticket is a grand, ok they are financially sound, but have fans benefitted??

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA - you almost had me mate x

No but the shareholders have, and they're the people that make the decision about ground moves. Fans will always pay higher ticket prices in a new stadium regardless of success or not on the pitch.

I think everyone would mate. I honestly believe that somehow it's possible.

Just a personal thing, but I could never go to a home match again if it wasn't at Goodison.
Can understand why you wouldn't mate.

Leaving Goodison would really affect some die hard blues who've been going to the old lady for years.

And that is why Everton want to move IMO.

It's a myth I think that if we get a new shiny ground, billionaires will be rushing to buy us and we'll win loads of trophies. The only guarantee is prices will increase and board members will be better off

I agree, with a brand new ground we will either have a huge amount of debt or the share price increases to cover the cost of investment in the new ground. I used to think it made a difference but actually the ground is a red herring - a new investor either pays to create a new ground after acquisition or pays for the new ground in the acquisition if we have moved from Goodison previously.
