I wonder, lets say average gate is 33k, and average ticket price is £33 the maths says that is £1,089,000.
Lets say a shared 85k stadium, for us to get the same £1,089,000 would mean an average ticket price of £12.82 pence.
Anyone got any stats about the total population of Merseyside?
Consider sharing that stadium, and hypothetically being able to fill it, ignoring incorporating world class corporate facilities into the build, stadium naming, sponsor revenues and associated on site businesses, if going to the match cost less than £13 then suddenly the game, travel a pint & a pie comes in at less than £25.
Lets say, 85k pies at £3.50 a go, and a crazy chang at £4, so £7.50 x 85k = £637,500
Forget all that, consider only having to fork out for half the running costs per annum for a stadium.
Then consider having a huge multi purpose stadium that can host plenty of other events.
In a game dictated to by money, any other choice is looking like madness. Wouldn't it be something if the two merseyside clubs could work together to give the working man his game back.

You paint a perfect picture. Based on myth.

The club is worth less if we don't own our own purpose bulit stadium. We have less assets with which to secure finance in an emergency.

We run the risk of being in a non purpose built stadia with a poor atmosphere.

You also assume naming rights would be distibuted equally too.

There are numerous reasons why sharing would be disasterous for Everton.

Won't list them again since we've done that several times.

Sharing is not an option.

Sadly, although I thought a shared stadium was the answer for years. Damon is right. Maybe it could have been the right move once but not anymore.

The best option is to build a modern stadium just for us that looks and feels like Goodison as much as possible. Such that the instant someone sees it on tv, they know its the new goodison.

That's a problem with all modern stadia. Just look at the Emirates, Wembley and the Etihad:

I thought the situation regarding the ground share came to a stand still because Liverpool wanted a higher percentage of income etc although the ground would be shared. Based on recent events, it has become obvious that we are more in the red that before, if we are unable to afford a free transfer then how do we a.) redevelop Goodison or b.) build a new ground?

We average what 35-36k a match, multiply that by the 19 home league games gives you a total of 665k up to 684k per season.
Then the 665k supporters pay at least £20 a ticket so that gives an income on match tickets of around £13,300,000 per season, surely once fees have been taken out a proportion could be placed into a new stadium regardless of number of occupiers over a number of years

Yes it is. Naming would have to be shared. Aren't there some that slate the current atmosphere? A 50 - 50 stake in something better than we have is better than a 100% stake in a coffin.

We need to move into a new era, and that means a new stadium. I love Goodison Park and I have had some great moments sitting there, but to be able to compete with the best you have to have a good stadium behind you. Unfortunatly the old lady is getting old and its time we retire her.
