We must never leave Goodison

put a second tier on the park end (which was originally planned, had permission etc... but johnson took the cheaper option) gradually re-develop/re-build the remaining stands to reduce/eliminate the restricted views, which would ultimately have to begin with my beloved Bullens Road as she is the last wooden stand in the league and has far more safety stewards than any other, also include new corporate boxes on the park end whilst building the 2nd tier - this way it could be done gradually and gently to protect the old lady and help secure her, and Everton's future! That's just my theory, i'm not a builder/architect/anything like that before you pick holes in my plans!!

Its such a myth that Goodison can't be redeveloped

To take the posts out of Goodison you couldn't have the stands overlapping each other, so we would end up with less seats. New stadiums are built in bigger areas so that the stands don't need to overhang each other. The atmosphere that we are so proud of at Goodison is generated because it is so condensed. So although the posts are a pain if your sat behind them, having them there is part of what helps to generate the atmosphere.

That's the way i see it anyway.

Any notion that Goodison can be redeveloped is a fallacy. It would take hundreds of cpo's issued on both residential and retail premises.
All any resident or property owner would have to do is contest the cpo, thus ensuring lengthy legal delays.
When the ****e wanted to develop the old Kemlyn rd stand it took them 30 years plus to acquire the properties to enable the redevelopment.
The costs involved would be enormous and take decades to achieve.
Non starter.

CPOs was what the greatest living Evertonian in the worlds plan with Tesco for the Kirkby shed, a plan to be carried on by Tesco for their plans for the townie.

Spot on about the overlapping. Surely though engineering has come a long way since the 20s and 30s so that you can still get the overlap the same but with less, or no, posts?

Could be wrong but i don't think there is. I can't think of one new stadium that has stands that overhang the ones below. I'd like to be proved wrong on this one though.

Anyone?

To have a self supporting roof or cantilever roof you need an external steel structure for this you need additional room as can be seen at the park end,and this is for a single tier structure.Bullens rd gwladys st and the main stand are of a two tier structure. The steel uprights support both the upper tier and the roof, thus being the case there is no simple fix for Goodison that can be considered cost effective.
It took the rs decades to acquire the properties and land to develop the Kemlyn rd an the anfield rd stands.
