We have good players, not a good squad. (the pundits can eat a poodle)

Who's good enough in our squad? Who looks like they have a future at everton? For me its richarlison, digne, pickford (who's been largely garbage this season). That's pretty much it and you could debate them all. The young players like Davies, dcl, lookman need to be kept based on their potential and to bulk up the squad. Sigurdsson and gomes also have a place going forward imo but can absolutely see why others would argue they dont and need moving out.

Time and time again experienced players let the team down, baines and Coleman costing us a goal a piece. We just give goals away every single week. The amount of chances we gift the opposition is a joke. How can premier league defenders not know when to come and when to go? How can we have set pieces and put one of the smallest players in our team on their main striker? Oh yeah. Its zonal marking. We have clearly learnt how to do that properly in the last however many months. These players are either not good enough or fundamentally thick.

Cut our losses, get rid of the bulk of this squad and remodel. We ain't competing for sh with these players. You see the character of people when things dont go your way, it's easy to play well when everyone else is playing well and you're winning. The last 10 or 15 games we've been given the same shrinking violets we've had for the last 4, 5, whatever seasons. Just not good enough. Its infuriating. Manager has to take some of the responsibility but christ on a bike, as a professional footballer, literally all you do all week is play football and train, then you go out there and give a shocking free kick away (keane) and a stupid penalty (baines) when you know your team is struggling. Theres generally no concept of defending within the back 4, its basic stuff, the management team shouldn't even need to tell them when one goes the other stays, that their forwards are going to run the channels and try play off the shoulder especially on Keane. We will go out Wednesday and do exactly the same thing same errors, same needless set pieces given away, we will still have Coleman or baines on the near post up against aguero or a centre back half a foot taller than them. Braindead.

Back 4 is awful. We don't have a decent striker. And we're light a centre midfielder.

So the squad is about where it should be.
The back 4 has to be better than all the teams outside the top 6 surely - Coleman, Zouma, Mina, Keane, Digne, Baines are to varying degrees all top players. And then with the England goalie in behind them. Who would you take out in center midfield? Gomes and Gana on paper are again very good. Backed up by no less than McCarthy, Davies, Schneiderlin

Wolves have a vastly inferior squad but seemingly better tactics / mentality / confidence?

Maybe Everton have a problem a bit like the England team - struggling with the weight of expectation - pressure has eroded confidence whereas others like Wolves have less to lose / less pressure

They don’t.

Coleman - legs have gone
Keane - Burnley is his level
Zouma - Bang average. Will never make it at Chelsea
Digne - Quality
Baines - Done
Mina - Decent

So two out 6 doesn't make a defence.

I would propose that every time we lose at home we bring the team to the center circle at the end of the game and literally make each of them eat dog poo!
- they won't want to do it
- fans will stay to the end
- different attitude next game....
or we could continue with the carrot approach of 75k a week.

I take the point on some of these - but a team like Wolves are getting by with players like Coady and Boly at the back. Zouma / Keane are both internationals for top countries - they should be able to do a job. Burnley were doing pretty well when Keane was there as captain

Really? The quality of their first team - at least - is certainly not vastly inferior. Let’s not go down this path again: casting envious and admiring glances at a exotic young manager that we convince ourselves is making (what we erroneously perceive) an inferior squad punch well above their weight. Wolves are a very good team made up of some very good players. I doubt the Wolves fans would swap many of our players for theirs. We don’t have a good team and we really don’t have a larger number of good players than the teams around us. We have a largely mid-table group of players managed by, what I’ve grimly come to realise now, a manager who should consider himself lucky to be anywhere near a premier league club.

Nobody at the club actually cares. We could have the best players and manager in the world but if they care as little as the side we currently have does we're always gonna be trash. For far to long the club has just shrugged off failure as a none issue to the point were the players literally don't care, they see the club as a laughable soft touch were they can earn silly money while doing next to nothing to earn it. Hardly anyone playing for us gives a dam about the club, I'd imagine a sizeable number of them actually hold the club in the highest contempt and some probably even dislike everything the club other then the stupid money the make from it. A massive rebuilding process is needed and until it happens nothing will ever change. As a club we deserve to be were we are right now.:(

Nice one Charles.. I. Going to raid a few dog poo bins in preparation for weds.. Wil have 3 bin bags full.

Pickford
??? Mina ??? Digne
??? ??? ???
??? ??? RIcharlison

If we go 433 we only have 4 players up to it.

We need to hobble along till summer and then bin off as many players as possible + continue the rebuild.

Because they do the basics defensively and concentrate for 90 minutes. We do the basics defensively against wolves and we get a draw minimum. These players just cant hack it consistently. There are flashes in the pan where they look like they will cut it, Keane at the start of the season was quality. Hes gone back to looking like a dopey lost dog at the back now. Management shouldn't even need to tell them after milwall, dont give away any cheap free kicks, if in doubt just get it out. Baines had about 3 chances to get rid of the ball before he gave away the penno. They're a bunch of losers and can g to f for me. Rather put faith in the manager than these cretins who've had ample opportunity to achieve here. Any other club they would already have been moved on. Just over it completely. We have literally been the same club since martinez's second season. Predictable, weak minded, push overs.
