We could finish anywhere from 7th - 18th: Europa a no-no?

Europa league with a competent manager doesn’t have to be an issue. Especially if we get an easier group than last time. If we’d just seen off Limassol at home we probably still could have rescued it. I want Everton in Europe every season so I’m hoping we can nick 7th but we’ve shown no consistency all season so it looks unlikely.

100% this - think we'll finish 8th personally with Leicester finishing above us probably on goal difference.

Europe attracts better players and its more fun to watch than seeing us fight for the 7th place trophy every year.

Who cares. After this let down, I have no interest in Europa. The drama with fans behaving poorly, on both sides.

Finish 8th, fire Big Sam, and build a team that can win and focus on the FA and league.

Don't care about Europe at all. Granted I won't be going to any games but I'd just rather see a larger success and I don't think the Europa league has any correlation with that. It's just a side prize, and something that could potentially keep Allardyce and Kenwright around. I've been through this with my American teams, and I root for them to finish last with a house fire. Difference is here, no top prospect in the world automatically on your team due to a draft. So 8th is optimal for me.

We never got beat though did we and if we did there would of still been 9 piss poor teams between us and the relegation zone. Over half of The league is littered with terrible sides we just happen to be the best of shitty teams in the league, hence why we’re not in a relegation battle.

Idk if any of you listen to outkast but they were just

2 post shots and a Cadillac from indeed being in that relegation battle.

Corny, but sorry couldn't help myself

I'm not sure what's going on, how is it better to not qualify for Europe? To give ourselves a better chance of qualifying for Europe the following year hahahaha??
You clearly don't understand. I'll spell it out for you.

We have a shambles of a board and director of football who I wouldn't trust to wrap up signings to allow us a settled side to head into the season. Cutting pre-season short, with a massive turnover of players, and having Thursday/Sunday games with an unbalanced and not-yet-gelled squad could really impact on our domestic season, as we saw this season with early cup exits, flirting with relegation, etc.

I'd rather we went into a domestic season with a top squad, where we could really give it a go not just in the cups, but also put a good fight in for a top six finish.

We've literally never won the league cup, the FA Cup doesn't seem to be coming here any time soon and what on earth is the difference between having 'a good fight' for top 6 and finishing 7th hahaha?
I highly doubt we'll come 4th which is the only significant improvement on 7th so if you don't mind I'll stick with my hopes on us wanting to be in every competition physically possible

Alright mate. Cheers.

Not unless we have a strong balanced squad and a manager used to dealing with European footy. I can't see us making it by the way

Europe is what we want but not those bloody qualifying rounds in the summer.
Totally derailed our season before it even got going.
No propper time off for close season , no pre season with time for new players to bed in plus a cruel overload of games.
Group stages YES . Qualifiers (7th place) NO.

Im all for it, the positives of being in the Europa far outweigh the negatives imh. Plus if we have any aspirations of breaking the top 6 in the next 5 years we need to get fully used to playing in Europe, being scared of it isn't going to get us anywhere.
