Can he sign now or do we have to wait for January window? If he can sign now I'd say definitely as he's cover whilst Jags is injured. If Stones or Ramiro get suspended/injured we're very light on any high-level experience in the middle.

I'd sign him until the New Year and let him prove his fitness. If he does and we could still do with him when Jags is fit, extend his deal.

However excellent leader, good reader of the game and flexible tactically - familiar with a three if ever we want to use that formation.
Would depend on his wages and how long Jags is out for but for experienced cover prefer him than paying for Jonny Evans who we were linked with over the summer.

How are people coming to the conclusion that we've got plenty of cover at centre half? We're one injury away from pitching in a youngster who has never played a senior game there, possibly next to another youngster who hasn't quite reached 80 games in his career. I certainly wouldn't mind a bit of experienced back up to prevent that.
I said in the summer we should have signed 2 centre halves and sent Galloway and Browning out on loan to play in that position. I think they'll learn a lot more playing 40 games at centre half in a lower division than playing bits and pieces at full back for us (granted the injuries to Baines and Oviedo have meant it's probably a good job we didn't send Galloway out, but the point still stands).

Another oldie with injury problems, if lesser clubs not interested why are we looking at him. Not needed IMO we have young players coming through and Vlaar will just get in their way. Could this be another "Alcazar" signing?
