I cant see why a couple of weeks off is going to make a lot of difference. When the 2 weeks is over she we go on holiday again and Wayne will be back on the sauce trying to play hide the sausage.

Why not play Rooney as a centre forward.
He knows the position well and could bring experience and craft to the position.
It would also allow the manager to fit other players like Sigurrdson into positions that might suit them better.

We have seen with Rooney that he is fitter than many expected and well able to last a game at a high level, why not use him as a striker ?
