A bit of both...not sure about greatness on the managerial front though - ask me in 10yrs

That's the bit which to me signals out he knowdl what he's doing, taking himself out means his sole focus can be on managing them and he's done well so far.

Players as good as Rooney will always have a slight head start on the normal managers as players instantly listen to great players, seen it with lampard and Gerrard who went straight into teams and improved them

He he gets derby to midtable he would do well to take the first job offered to him after that. Derby have ruined a number of promising management careers - lot of expectation and a quick fire owner
