Watches

What about the watch that the Moyesiah wears? 🤔

Would you consider getting one, since you’re his biggest fan, mate? 😜

Works for the UK overcast days...that'd be a nightmare to read here with the AZ sun...luckily the brand name makes up for it but it's not something I'd buy, even if I could. Silver on white is a 'kin nightmare for a watch; contrary to popular belief, some of us actually need to be able to use them for their intended purpose.

so I've been very happy indeed with the CW I bought and fancied picking up another more straightforward everyday watch with a bracelet as my last 3 have been leather or rubber straps (ooh, suits you sir). I went back and forth over a few and in the end plumbed for a C63 Sealander GMT of this varietal:

Not one of their most dazzling colourways (I also loved the green and dragonfly versions) but something about the orange on back really popped.

I knew I was looking at a late July delivery, but I went online to show someone and the entire Sealnder range had been pulled bar the Extreme GMTs...

Hmm, summat's afoot thought I. Anyway, I gets an email from their customer service to say its still on course for delivery, however they wanted to let me know that they are relaunching Sealander and I had the option to switch up to one of the new models. This is the nearset equivalant:

My intial thought was to stick with the first generation, I didn't like that they've lost the trident second hand, I liked the orange top indicies on the old one, wasn't crazy about the bigger GMT hand or the new Sealnder logo on the 2nd gen... but I think the new one is growing on me.

Annoyingly it looks superb with the rubber strap but I could pick one of those up at a later date:

Any thoughts on either? I'm slightly torn....

yeah... its weird, I just dismissed the new one on first look but there's soemthing about the simpler, cleaner look that's starting to edge it a bit and the things I didn't like are growing on me, I'm starting to really like the new logo and the straight second hand... hmm.

Over years and countless watches I've just come to know what I'll like long term and the older one has a bit more character for me. Unless you're in a special circumstance where you'll make frequent use of it, I'd swerve the GMT function (one less thing to go wrong over its lifetime) but if you like it, the older one is less intrusive to the face overall, IMO.

🤷‍♂️

Tough one. I have a very slight preference for the newer model, as it's a bit more legible and the dial has more depth/texture. Both are great so it is win-win.

Hmm... the more I look at the new one the cleaner and more elegant it seems...

When I put them side by side the first generation seems a little bit cluttered now. I also like that they've dropped the trident hand, knowing it'll be controversial and put the name on because they want it to finally and fully stand apart from the Trident range. I like that confidence in the model.

Henry, Archer nordso still going strong. It's been a great watch, all things considered. About as dressy a diver as you can get, IMHO.
Lovely watch! I particularly like this glacier colour!
