Walking

Walked most of the Peak District back in the day (ie many, many moons ago)
It must be so much easier these days with some parts having man-made paths/trails and set routes.
One particular walk across Kinder Scout always gives me a giggle whenever I think of it. We were crossing the moors in poor weather and it was really hard going, getting bogged down every few yards. Nothing but boggy moorland could be seen in any direction. As I stumbled for the umpteenth time, my hand hit upon something. I pulled it out and wiped away the mud to find a walking boot.
Cheered me up no end to know that some poor bugger probably had to complete the slog with one boot lollollol

I went swimming in there - big mistake.

Went swimming in the tarn halfway up Helvelyn, the water was disgusting, tasted of nothing but peat.

Seemed like a good idea at the time lol

In saying that I`ve been " wild " swimming in Snowdonia, the Yorkshire Dales and other places in the Lakes. Great fun on a hot day.

Some good walks around where I live, thankfully quite flat alongside the River Carron and the Union and Forth and Clyde canals, all interlinked and taking in the Falkirk millennium wheel and the Kelpies.
