2025/26 Vitalii Mykolenko

Don't know if it's fully Moyes. We bought some kid who'd played in 15 top flight games in his life, about 900 minutes total.
That doesn't sound like someone who walks into a starting LB berth at a Premier League club.
Aznou is a very very skilful young player but he's physically quite weak still. Think that's the thing holding him back currently.

Dont like going for the boy, cos he really seems a nice lad and he gives everything, but thought he was at fault for their goal today.
Might have been the only thing he wasn't at fault for.

Favourite was in the first half when he just started running with the ball for no reason, then punted it dead straight out for a goal kick, then turned and ran back to his position like a glitching FIFA player.

Nah don't agree with that at all. It's all Tarkowski.

Charges out aimlessly, Keane has to cover him, Myko has to cover Keane on Sarr, leaves their RWB completely open.

Pickford and Tarks were going wild at JOB so would be interesting to see the few seconds before that.

….he’s definitely not on the same wavelength as Grealish, which is a bit of a waste.

I’m taken back to the first game of the season when I noticed Grealish talking to him on the pitch before kick-off, Mykolenko was nodding but I thought to myself then; ‘you’re wasting your time there, Jack’.

A good full back is so important to a team in the modern game - they have to defend & overlap we have neither on both sides & DM knew this in June before he signed a player ?

I struggle with Myko. He does some things 'ok', however he struggles with his speed of thought. Often he found himself in a good position to lay a ball off and for some reason took his time making the easy / effective pass. Really not good enough. I thought Grealish was going to chin him at one point.

…looks like we were on the verge of signing Tete early, an indication that Moyes wanted a RB. Also we did bring in Aznou, with a great pedigree at LB but is not deemed ready from a defensive perspective.

He has to come off the bench - to get used to the prem - how we won yesterday was Dick Turpin FC .. glad of the points - but they could have hammered us ....

was involved in both our goals weren’t he?

He like Roberto Carlos compared to O’Brien on the other flank
Not only involved in both goals, but solid defensively...of course I would love to have roberto carlos as a full back, but then he wouldn't be playing for everton. I take myko on form (fit and not carrying any injury) before digne any day...I think the fans have been spoiled with having baines for so many years as one of the best, if not the best, left back in the country...

We shouldn't be settling for one of the worst players on the ball in the entire league starting every week. Him and O'Brien are killing our build up play but at least the latter has the excuse of being a centre half.
