Dyche’s tactics quite obviously prioritised full backs who were told to limit their movement up the pitch, and especially not to try overlaps. He's done OK the second half of this season, looks far more capable of overlapping since Moyes came in. Who knows? Maybe he was playing to orders under Dyche. He's no world beater, but, he's ok and not one of our major priorities this summer.
If Alcaraz had a little more luck it would have been two assists. Myko is a very good player who is getting better under Moyes. LB really not a worry in an excellent defence.i watch all the games, and most of the home ones in the ground
he’s not good enough going forward, a lot of attacks break down with him
yes he got an assist today but that was more alcaraz’s run than it being a perfect cross
he’s an average player. we want to be more than that
Totally agree. We have enough issues without looking to add more. Defensively we’ve been sound and he’s been a big part of that. His game is improving under Moyes and we don’t have the money to replace him. I’d rather see us sort out RW, RB, FW & CM before anything else. We 100% need better players all over the pitch (apart from in goal) but we can’t do it all this summer. We've 13 first team players in the squad.
13.
Right now.
13.
Why are we looking at one of them needing an upgrade when we have so much work to do to cover everywhere else?
What's telling about Myko is, that he's tough. We aren't looking at games missed through knocks and suspensions. That reliability is also worth something.
I actually think he could work as a left CB in a back three. Shame we don't have this as an optionWe need better to progress as a team. He's fine as back-up but needs replaced as a starter.
To be a modern day footballer you have to do more than what previous players did. Years ago players made a living on being a hard man now you have players with legs making a career, goalkeepers need to be good on the ball these days. Mykolenko can defend with support, he’s probably ok for another season as we need so many in, he’s poor on the ball and negative in possession, he has improved as everyone has since Moyes big season for him next season if he doesn’t improve going forward and in possession it’s definitely a position we can improve on, but right now more important positions to fill.I read a lot about needing an upgrade and I totally disagree, he's a defender first and foremost, and a very good one. All the talk about he's crossing or attacking isn't good enough....what hogwash is that ?.
He has played in one of the top defences in the premiership this season, one of the few defenders who plays Salah really well.
Perfectly good player, btw, I don't hear complaints that our RB is a poor attacker....that's if we ever get one ???.
What about Ndiaye?According to Transfermarkt he’s our second biggest asset after Branthwaite.
Myko is valued at £28m
Branthwaite £50m
I think he’s been player of the season.
