Villa's and Everton's run in.

Is it not more difficult to play against sides who are fighting relegation?? I would rather play the likes of Man City, West Ham and Spurs who dont really have too much to play for. Villa for me have the most difficult run in and with O'Neill's team not winning a single game since we dumped them out of the cup, it puts us in the box seat.

I said it was difficult, maybe more difficult because those teams need to win every game they can, especially Hull who havent won for something silly like 10 games.

I said our games possibly tougher just down to the quality of the teams we're playing.

Villa have to play teams that are fighting. We have to keep concentration against good teams.

I'd love 5th place. But I would rather we win 2 of our last few games, or all our home games, guarantee 6th place, then concentrate on winning that FA Cup because we can win it.

I reckon we'll finish sixth.

Moyes OOT.

'OCH!!!!!

I dont mind 6th, its Europe. I just want that FA Cup sooooo badly I would break my own legs with a spanner if that meant the jug came back to Goodison Park.

As for the fixtures - Citeh and Spurs want to BE us, so beating us at GP is a massive scalp for them. Shows that they're "progressing". I've always said, we dont have to compete with the teams below us, they have to compete with us.

Anybody got a spanner preferably a big one.

IMO it will be a close call, all the games for both sides will be no push overs. A thought though do you think Moyes will put out a weaker side for the game before the cup final?

Posted via Mobile Device we are already in europe as chelsea will be in the CL - 5th is there for the taking though.

question:
would anyone take Villa pipping us to fifth... if it meant Newcastle were to go down?
it could very well come to that and to be honest... I really don't like Newcastle :P

Benetez still wants Barry. Anything that keeps Alonso off the pitch is a good thing so I wholeheartedly approve this purchase.

Those 3 clubs are all in with a shout of 7th, and possibly Europa football next season.

Villa are in the driving seat and they have the easier run in. We've got hard games against Spurs and Citeh and Fulham and Sunderland away won't be easy.

Villa play well away from home too, they play to their strengths on the counter attack and they don't have the pressure of the home fans.

Villa to get 5th imo.

I have no doubt that we'll rightly claim 5th place, i don't care who they've got because our form is better than theirs, combine that with the desire and team spirit that we've shown consistently, momentum is ours,we shall not be denied what is justifiably ours.

I feel a tendency to agree with your posts today.
We'll get fifth place, no worries.(y)

I'm not sure i'd trade a 5th place finish for a relegated Newcastle, but it would be fantastic consolation! So that's one way to look at it i guess :) Chances are that both might happen anyway! we could more than likely afford a newcastle draw against villa.

I actually have this sneaky feeling Newcastle are going to get out of it. We have a fantastic chance of getting fifth, i was concerned after Suday but the attitude of the players on Weds was immense. Hope we dont pick up any lingering injuries between the end of the season and now, we haveplayed alot of football this year never mind this week.
