Some interesting opinions on Villa Talk about us. Particularly about our support who one or two consider to be "the worst in the league" lol.

I've always seen us as similar clubs and think they've got a great history and a great stadium. I reckon they're an underestimated club, a bit like us, but I suppose that's down to most of their success (particularly for league titles) being pre 1900 whereas ours was fairly consistent until the 90's.

The thing i've never taken to is their support though.

I found this post in particular the most amusing:

Absolute silence, HANDBALL! General whinging noise. Handball! Villa score against the run of play. Absolute silence. More absolute silence. HANDBALL! Increased general whinging. Villa have a corner, but you can't see this. Absolute silence. Everton equalise! Silence. Whinging. More whinging. The noise of Scousers moaning is getting in your nerves now. More whinging. Silence. Everton have the worst support in the league by a mile.

Has this lad ever been to Villa Park? lol

Their support has to be up there with the most disloyal in the league. Do themselves no favours with their "empty seats ma lord" song when it's usually them who has the empty seats, home or away. Some of their away turnouts in the past few years have been abysmal for a big club. Genuinely embarrasing.

Anyway, what are people's opinion of Villa? As a club, and of their fans? Here is the thread...

By 'Support' he means making noise, and constant singing.

In that case, he is spot on. He is also rigt about the claiming for everything, we do.

one of the worst in the league!?! do me a favour. Lets just put the away support to the side cos thats not even worth dealing with. Our home support is pretty similar to many in that unless something controversial happens or it is a big game then the atmosphere wont be great.

But to say its one of the worst in the league when your point of comparison is villa park is mental.

If "good support" is bouncing around waving flags and singing generic songs with no words like "wooaaah woooaaah woooaaaah" that you robbed from a German club you once played in pre-season, then I guess Crystal Palace have good support and everyone else is s**t

Its just as bad as the worst at times, and just as good as the best at times.

Im not insulted by it at all, mate.

He does make some good points, we whine at everything and claim for everything too.

Not arsed what anyone else thinks, we are us.

Agree the atmosphere is pretty poor at Goodison, but i've been to Villa Park loads and it's very similar.

Don't rate many grounds these days personally.

Absolutely appalled that they'd say that. How dare they? HOW DARE THEY? They should just shut up and stop being mean to us in case one of us bravely goes and tries to find if they've not said we're just the sweetest, loudest, loveliest bunch of fans in the universe.
