Hi All,

Really looking forward to the game on Sunday which could prove pivotal to both our own top four and Europa Cup ambitions.

I'm looking for the views of a supporter or two, I own an Aston Villa website and the Q&A's I get will be very helpful in producing this article. The aim is simply to simply give a view from your camp.

So, if any of you would like to help out, great stuff, answer to the questions below. If not, the best of luck to you all on Sunday, I'll be in attendance and i'm sure the atmosphere will be electric.

Regards,

TanserMan

This game could prove pivotal to both ours and your season, do you agree with that?

Your enjoying some great form, whereas we've stumbled and seemed to be buckling under the pressure being heaped on us. Surely this is an advantage?

Moyes and O'Neill have both been named as possible successors to Alex Ferguson. Have we got the best British managers and could they make the step up?

I think you've made possibly the best signing of the season in Marouane Fellaini. What do you think of him?

If given a free player card for an Aston Villa player, who would you trade it in for?

Do you think either of us can still make the top four?

Any concerns ahead of the match?

What are your expectations for the match ahead?

Good luck lads, thanks! :D

This game could prove pivotal to both ours and your season, do you agree with that?

Yes, i firmly believe whoever wins will get that 5th position.

Your enjoying some great form, whereas we've stumbled and seemed to be buckling under the pressure being heaped on us. Surely this is an advantage?

Not particularly, Everton are the type of team who make it harder for themselves. Just like we did against Portsmouth.

Moyes and O'Neill have both been named as possible successors to Alex Ferguson. Have we got the best British managers and could they make the step up?

I think they are both great managers. Moyes maybe slightly better - given his transfer genius. Both could make the step up to the United Job, but i doubt any of them will get the chance - they will want a proven manager - who plays great football.

I think you've made possibly the best signing of the season in Marouane Fellaini. What do you think of him?

Heehee, no - not the signing of the season. He has had some good games - where he looks great, but the majority of the time he has been average - many factors - position, referees being ***s to him, getting used to the way everton play etc...Play him in an Attacking position and he is great.

If given a free player card for an Aston Villa player, who would you trade it in for?

Young, i dont like his attitude, but he is a great player - only other player i would seriously consider would be barry, but Young has a much better future.

Do you think either of us can still make the top four?

Id love to say yes, but no. We can only blame ourselves too. Everton got off to a terrible start to the season - who knows why - but we lost games we should have easily won. Had we won them games i firmly believe we would be in that 4th spot, or atleast chasing 4th in 5th. Same story with Villa. Had they won the games they should have done in the past 2 months they would be up there, you crumbled under the pressure - personally id blame the manager, but confidence in the team is everything, Villa need to find some - and quick to stay 5th.

Any concerns ahead of the match?

The pace of your team basically. Our defence is great, the best i have seen in years, Jagielka and Lescott amazing center backs, Baines looking great on the left, and Hibbert just keeps surprising us on the right. But none of them can really keep up with Young etc...

What are your expectations for the match ahead?

I want a win, personally i think it will be a 0-0 draw.

Thanks for the prompt reply Dom1878.

With Wigan playing well against Arsenal (winning 1-0) the gates could potentially be blown open if one of us win. I'd love it to end up Villa forth, Everton fifth and Arsenal in peril but that would be a dreamland scenario that would have slightly better odds then Newcastle actually staying up.

If I was to have any player from Everton, it would have to be Lescott. Not only because he's a Villa fan but because he always scores against us!! Great defender aswell. Cahill would be a close second because of his versatility and attacking capabilities.

I'm hoping obviously for a Villa win, but it's no easy game. We played well at United but we lost, you can play well and get beat 10-0 but nobody will remember how you played.

I actually like Moyes (had to re-type from Moyles then, what was i thinking!?) he's done well with the money given to him and he's honest, passionate and straight talking. Like O'Neill.

[Q] This game could prove pivotal to both ours and your season, do you agree with that?

[A] Possibly mate. If a thrashing is dished out, then yes, this game could well be pivotal.

[Q] Your enjoying some great form, whereas we've stumbled and seemed to be buckling under the pressure being heaped on us. Surely this is an advantage?

[A] Not necessarily. You suggest the Villa are buckling, I would say Villa were damn unlucky to lose at Old Trafford -- the way we were damn unlucky conceding your late Ashley Young winner, at our place.
Our injury list is longer than Schindler's List.

[Q] Moyes and O'Neill have both been named as possible successors to Alex Ferguson. Have we got the best British managers and could they make the step up?

[A] I would say, yes.

[Q] I think you've made possibly the best signing of the season in Marouane Fellaini. What do you think of him?

[A] Personally, I reckon Fellaini has been absolutely fantastic.

[Q] If given a free player card for an Aston Villa player, who would you trade it in for?

[A] Ashley Young.

[Q] Do you think either of us can still make the top four?

[A] If Arsenal lose at Wigan (which they currently are) and there is a winner tomorrow -- then yes -- it's game back-on.

[Q] Any concerns ahead of the match?

[A] Only one. If Jo plays, his away performances thus far have been peripheral to say the least.

[Q] What are your expectations for the match ahead?

[A] At least a draw.

All the best, Tanserman.

I hope it's a good game tomorrow and that we repay you for stealing the match in December. For the life of me though I can't be overly generous with my comments re Villa. You rode your luck for a number of games and now that your luck has run out, Martin O'Neil is showing his true colours.

I'm pleased for you supporters because as a passionate supporter of the Blues I know how wonderful it is to be breathing down the necks of the SKY 4 but don't get too comfy in that position because we're right there too!(y)
Like I said, I hope it's a good game and let's show those SKY dipsticks that there is some good stuff going on in the rest of the Premiership.:D

This game could prove pivotal to both ours and your season, do you agree with that?

whoever does not win can not hope for the champions league, but 5th place will go to the wire regardless of the result tomorrow.

Your enjoying some great form, whereas we've stumbled and seemed to be buckling under the pressure being heaped on us. Surely this is an advantage?

the momentum is with everton for sure. an early goal could settle it. and everton's defence is the best outside of the top four.

Moyes and O'Neill have both been named as possible successors to Alex Ferguson. Have we got the best British managers and could they make the step up?

united is too early for moyes. perhaps in 5 years he will fancy it. martin o'neil would surely be favourite for the job over moyes.

I think you've made possibly the best signing of the season in Marouane Fellaini. What do you think of him?

on a good day he is unplayable. on a bad day he stinks the house out. but he is still 21 so we are hoping for more next season. next season could be a big one for everton with many young players maturing in to decent players. moyes getting them all on 5 year contracts is a masterstroke.

If given a free player card for an Aston Villa player, who would you trade it in for?

it's a no brainer. we would kill for a player of ashley young's ability on the wing.

Do you think either of us can still make the top four?

arsenal still play united, chelsea and liverpool. that is a tough run in by any standards. neither everton or villa can slip up again. if either of us win all the remeining games it will be close. but no.... i think that ship has sailed.

Any concerns ahead of the match?

injury? apart from arteta, yakubu and vaughan we are looking good.

What are your expectations for the match ahead?

a tough match. of course an everton win. 1-0.

This game could prove pivotal to both ours and your season, do you agree with that?

Winning a game like this would be a massive boost to either team. Which is something we could use before our semi final.

Your enjoying some great form, whereas we've stumbled and seemed to be buckling under the pressure being heaped on us. Surely this is an advantage?

I'm not counting on it ! I think Villa will be well up for the game.

Moyes and O'Neill have both been named as possible successors to Alex Ferguson. Have we got the best British managers and could they make the step up?

Those three names have got to be the three best British managers.

I think you've made possibly the best signing of the season in Marouane Fellaini. What do you think of him?

He came with a massive price tag which at first was hard to live up to. And his disciplinary record has been awful (12 yellow cards). But I think he has the makings of a real Goodison favourite.

If given a free player card for an Aston Villa player, who would you trade it in for?

We need a pacey winger, so it's got to be Ashley Young.

Do you think either of us can still make the top four?

No, but I think one of us could come very close.

Any concerns ahead of the match?

the possibility of injuries to key players, a week before the semi final. It's been our curse all season.

What are your expectations for the match ahead?

It'll finish 1-1.

It was a great game though weren't it? Goals aside it was a great advert for the Premier League and although I think Everton we're unlucky, we we're so used to being on the crest of the wave that we somewhat knew we could do it. And that belief was in the players.

Luck plays a great part in every football clubs season, even the United's and Chelsea's of this world rely on luck from time to time. There's got to be a time this season that you thought you we're rather fortuitous in gaining a victory, goal or decision?

The sky4 needs to be broken and this season could prove to be one of the only chances we get in recent years.

This game could prove pivotal to both ours and your season, do you agree with that?

Yes, it's a massive game.

Your enjoying some great form, whereas we've stumbled and seemed to be buckling under the pressure being heaped on us. Surely this is an advantage?

We've lacked balance since Arteta got injured to be honest, we've been grinding out results but the performances haven't been up to scratch. The Wigan game was promising, hopefully we can build on it.

Moyes and O'Neill have both been named as possible successors to Alex Ferguson. Have we got the best British managers and could they make the step up?

Both excellent managers and have similar styles, styles which in my opinion wouldn't go down well at Man utd. Given time I think they could both do a job but I doubt either would get it.

I think you've made possibly the best signing of the season in Marouane Fellaini. What do you think of him?

He's a decent player, one that certainly divides opinion. I think someone are harsh on him and some overrate him. Play him in an advanced position and he does a good job, play him in the middle and your asking for trouble, it wastes him and it weakens the team.

If given a free player card for an Aston Villa player, who would you trade it in for?

Ashley Young, he's exactly what we need. A winger with pace and trickery. I wouldn't mind Gareth Barry but we have Arteta who in my opinion is a better player and plays in a similar central role

Do you think either of us can still make the top four?

I doubt it, I think Arsenal will just edge it.

Any concerns ahead of the match?

If we get the same eleven on the pitch that played again Wigan then I'm confident, we'll certainly give you a game and compete. I'm just hoping we don't give Barry and Petrov too much time on the ball, there are both better on it that Neville and Cahill which might give you the upper hand.

What are your expectations for the match ahead?

1-1 I reckon, Fellaini for us and Carew for Villa.

I think so. Momentum is very important in football and Villa have lost theirs at the moment. If they were to fall behind both Arsenal and Everton I think their morale would really suffer. There isn't an awful lot of experience in the Villa camp of this sort of situation so it's certainly a key game for us.

Your enjoying some great form, whereas we've stumbled and seemed to be buckling under the pressure being heaped on us. Surely this is an advantage?

I don't think so. Villa had a decent performance against United and were unlucky not to get anything from it, so I think they'll be reasonably confident going into the game.

Moyes and O'Neill have both been named as possible successors to Alex Ferguson. Have we got the best British managers and could they make the step up?

There aren't many British managers that I'd rate, but Moyes and O'Neill are without doubt the best of the bunch.

I think you've made possibly the best signing of the season in Marouane Fellaini. What do you think of him?

Not sure about him being the best signing of the season (unless you mean best signing for us, in which case competition hasn't exactly been fierce :D ). I think we've yet to see the best of him as he's still young but he's shown definate promise this season.

If given a free player card for an Aston Villa player, who would you trade it in for?

Ashley Young is the only Villa player I feel would offer us something radically different to what we have at the moment so I'll go for him.

Do you think either of us can still make the top four?

It won't be easy as Arsenal have hit some form but you never know. If you keep on winning you always give yourself a shot.

Any concerns ahead of the match?

Our away form I guess. It hasn't been bad but we've been far less fluent away from home.

What are your expectations for the match ahead?

From us I expect us to be gritty and hard working as usual, hopefully cutting out the brain farts that we gifted you at Goodison. 1-0 win would do me very nicely.

Thanks to Les D, tadpole and teppic for the replies, much appreciated.

I didn't realise Marouane Fellaini was so young, 21 and playing like that is a real asset to have. He's got plenty of time to mature as a player and next season could be a tough one for him with the second season syndrome that normally follows suit. If he shines even then, he'll be a top class player and you'll reap the rewards. I'm abit suprised about the comments of him going missing but we have that also with our youngsters, Young... Gabby and Milner all have their moments but they win games.

Good luck in the semi by the way!

This game could prove pivotal to both ours and your season, do you agree with that?

I think this is the most important game we have left. And I think you guys should feel the same way

Your enjoying some great form, whereas we've stumbled and seemed to be buckling under the pressure being heaped on us. Surely this is an advantage?

I'll take anything as a good omen atm. We're running thin on players, and you looked great against United even though you lost. So if the fact you're bottom of the form book could help, then I'd like to think it will.

Moyes and O'Neill have both been named as possible successors to Alex Ferguson. Have we got the best British managers and could they make the step up?

Yes and yes. Though I'll tell you I'm one of the few O'Neill fans here, a lot of our fans seem to dislike him.

I think you've made possibly the best signing of the season in Marouane Fellaini. What do you think of him?
He's promising, but I'm still on the fence. If he can find a way to work around or cut out his limitations (lack of pace, doesnt drive as often, knocked off the ball easy for a big fella, weak tackler) then I think he could be one of the best midfielders in Europe in a few years. He's got the raw potential.

If given a free player card for an Aston Villa player, who would you trade it in for?
Ah tough one, I like a few of your players. Think atm I'd take Agbonlahor, cos we need a striker, but I'm a big fan of Young, Barry, Laursen and Carew also.

Do you think either of us can still make the top four?
I think we both can, Arsenal have a poor run in and are getting beat by Wigan as we speak. But I think if either of us wants to finish fourth we have to win tomorrow.

Any concerns ahead of the match?
That our small squad will catch up to us and you'll turn us over on the break.

What are your expectations for the match ahead?
Expecting a draw, hoping for a win.

Thanks ToxethBlue, Bruce Wayne and NeoNaoNeo.

I don't think we played too badly at Old Trafford but results mean everything. We concede alot of goals in the last ten minutes of a match and United seemed to start playing in that period but they scored two great goals and although rather fortuitous, they won and we lost.

Petrov for us is pivotal tomorrow, his form of late has been class and he had Carrick in his pocket all game last week,

On paper it certainly looks that way but there are a few games left and you can see some crazy results at the end of the season
Your enjoying some great form, whereas we've stumbled and seemed to be buckling under the pressure being heaped on us. Surely this is an advantage?
Again, on paper yes but we are really missing Arteta away from home
Moyes and O'Neill have both been named as possible successors to Alex Ferguson. Have we got the best British managers and could they make the step up?
Agree with Dom. There capable but probably won't get the chance
I think you've made possibly the best signing of the season in Marouane Fellaini. What do you think of him?
He's doing well for a young lad in his first season but he'll be better when we find his best position
If given a free player card for an Aston Villa player, who would you trade it in for?
Young is a class act and will scare any defender with his pace. We are also in need of a wide man so him or Milner who I think has done well for you and given you a nice balance
Do you think either of us can still make the top four?
Yes
Any concerns ahead of the match?
The pace of your attack
What are your expectations for the match ahead?
I expect it to be a tense affair with the odd goal separating us if at all. Got 1-1 in my head but I'm terrible at forecasts
Good luck lads, thanks! :D

Good luck to you after tomorrow:D
