Easy to laugh at the neighbour you don’t like when he’s going through a bad time. He would be better worrying about his own club. In fighting with the board & not won the title since last century, not much longer since we won it. Yes Liverpool are a good cup team but their lovable Manc neighbours up the East Lancs have won 10 premier leagues and 2 Chumpions league cups.

Benitez also reminds me of Houllier. By the way how’s his 5 year plan coming on? They got hammered by Liege but as just as usual got lucky, very lucky. Keep laughing Kopites what goes round comes round. Remember Forest’s back to back European cup wins??

Big club? Right!

I can say tactically it was awful, Cahill left wing?? What was the point in the possesion? There was zero pace in our attack, no incisive through balls, nothing. Liege gave us so much time and space to play, how we cant create a chance is beyond me.

Arteta started left wing, Moyes moved it around throughout the game to try and undo the Liege defence but nothing worked.

How are we supposed to use pace and through balls when your not cutting through anyone?? They just sat back, almost in their own 3rd virtually all the first half. Throughballs are vitually pointless at that stage, the only way we could get through them was to draw them out but they wouldnt come out until they scored, by that time it was too late for us as all our heads dropped.

We tried so many tactics last night that if anything maybe we even tried to much and should have stuck with one, so I really cant agree with you on that one. Not saying we were the best, but they had the easiest option and took it and used it perfectly.

Thats right mate, its easy to pick on others when they are down, maybe he should take a look at their own failings before incorrectly picking out ours.

The best manager in our history (Howard Kendall) likes the idea of Cahill playing on the left. You don't have to be an out and out winger to do it, he could just get up and down the pitch like he does and he's got the freedom to make his runs into the box. Gary Speed did it for Newcaste, a very similar player to Cahill in my opinion.

As I said in the other thread Moyes interchanged the team alot to find the right balance. Arteta switched left, right an centre, Osman moved from central position to outwide and Cahill moved everywhere. Saha even dropped into the whole and gave us a link man.

Moyes mixed it up alot, he went with a positive team and he tried three different formations.

You have to be realistic, Standard have a very good defense and they say very deep and cut off any space Saha and Yakubu may have had. It's easy watching on Channel 5 and saying "we should be creating, but in reality it's not that easy".

We needed that little bit of luck or even that bit of magic but I didn't happen. I can't blame Moyes for yesterdays game though, not a chance.

Kopite in 'talking complete bollocks' shocker.

First off, they hate Moyes. That's your compass when reading anything by those shower of [Poor language removed] about Everton and Moyes. Reasoned analysis doesn't come into it. Secondly, does that tit think Moyes has the resources for another 12 first class players outside the first team offering him formation options? Third, the midfiled was adequte yesterday. Regardless of Cahill's performance they had enough of the ball and weren't over run. Moyes got that right, imo. You just can't waltz through probably the best defence I've seen all season.

All of a sudden it has become fashionable to knock David Moyes.

What are we, 8 games in to the new season?

Nobody was calling him [Poor language removed] last season or the season before.

Sorry but you don't become a crap manager overnight.

Why are we even discussing what a kopite thinks?if I want a monkeys view I go to the zoo,Lets be honest anyone in here writing about them would find it hard not to be biased,do you think they are different,I am far from happy but would think our neighbours have enough of their own problems not least the yanks that own them

Spot on, Moyes tried all he could to break them down and the RS only managed it after over 180 minutes. Gave you some rep! :D

They are obsessed by us. They talk about United like it's the only game in town for them, but their greatest fear is a resurgent Everton. They know that for all the cups their club wins they'll never be legitimate, always the pretenders who are supported by silverware-dazzled, phony whingeing no marks.

.

Both great in the air but apart from that I don't see any simularities, Gary Speed was a very unselfish player, I never really saw him busting a gut to get on the end of things like Cahill?
