Player Valuation: £15m
With video technology now coming into play, my thoughts are that this will assist the top sides even more as they will be more attacking & have more possession etc etc....

So with more teams playing with the high press offensive & attacking style of play the video technology is even better news for them imo....

Let's hope Everton can adopt this more attacking style of play next year with some more positive signings in next years transfer market & not get left behind playing dull defensive mediocre football...

At the moment it is to be used for limited things. I would like it to eventually go the way it works in Rugby Union where the video ref can flag up any incident missed by the on field officials.

In theory it should cut out a lot of the cheating.

Eventually yes. But there will be major major teething problems along the way.

I think it won’t help that people might be expecting too much from it straight away. It’s definitely a step in the right direction, but I agree there will be major teething problems, as has happened in leagues where it has already been implemented.

Lots of questions surrounding why it has or hasn’t been used for a particular incident, not to mention that in many instances even the video evidence isn’t conclusive one way or the other. At the end of the day, the actual ref still needs to interpret the evidence.

VR contests a decision, which could go for or against the attacking or defending team. I don't know why it would favour one style of play.

My line of thought is the more possession & attacks a team has the more likely that team will gain from VR for example the stronger the team the more attempts on goal & more action in the opposing penalty area are likely.

My dream is Dele Alli takes a clear dive and after awarding the penalty the VR calls down to the main ref and tells him it is a dive and Alli, who is already booked, gets his second yellow and has to walk. Point being if used correctly it should cut some diving out of the game too

Should check goals scored for offiside etc and wouldn't slow the game down also penalties. Should also be used for diving and bad tackles, the game however should continue and not stop. The 4th official should be able to review the footage as the game continues until he is satisfied that a bad tackle or dive has occurred and not been correctly punished by the ref, he should then be able to radio the ref and tell him that the offending player needs to be sent off Etc
