When Pogba signed for Man U he had 3 years left on his contract. At this point in time RL has 2 1/2 years left on his.
Before Pogba left Juve his agent, Mino Raiola commented that his client was likely to sign a new contract yet that never happened and as the say the rest is history.
In Dec 2016 RLs agent one Mino Raiola stated his client was likely to sign a new contract.
In December it was rumoured that the contract on the table was worth £100k a week and had a£80 million buy out clause in it. The fact that contract hasn't be signed is key for whilst it is vast money the £25k a week uplift is worth after tax/ Nic etc about £12k a week and take out agents and other fees it's below £10k. Still vast but in the wider scheme of things it's probably not.
As contracts tick down the power really does shift for let it get into the last 24 months for a player of the age of RL who signed a 5 year deal the player can walk, the higher the wage the greater the compensation but the opportunity is there and you can bet your bottom dollar that will be a fact the agent will use in any discussions
Get into the last 12 months of a contract and well the player can walk using Bosman.
Let's just suppose he doesn't sign that contract in my opinion he will leave in the summer and whilst it would be lovely to think that the fee would be north of £75 million but it won't be.For those that think it will be north of £60 million.It won't be.
However sign that new contract and the whole landscape changes and then yes he might be worth £75 million plus but as they say something is only worth what someone will pay .

With reference to my earlier statements re Rom's goalscoring record etc, please explain how Pogba is the better, and therefore more valuable, player.
