He's not a striker. Doesn't have the brain for it.

He's like heskey, big strong lump that may slot a goal or two every blue moon.

When we play Anichebe we tend to lump the ball up to him. I wonder how he'd fare if we actually played the ball on the ground while he was upfront. I suspect that it would make a lot of difference to him and the team. He is more effective on the right / left simply because the ball is at his foot.

Perhaps our up and under style doesn't suit him and he's been blamed for our poor style in the final third.

Just a thought.

Yeah he didnt score,he got brought down for the pen which Obinna scored that was the 2nd nigeria goal the pen,efc say it was Anichebe scoring the 3rd from a pen  he also came off at Half time

I think it's a bit of both, to be honest, BT mate.

Moyes keeps asking him to do something he's utterly woeful at.

Not really. When he gets the ball to his feet as a lone striker, his touch is awful and his football brain is worst...his running off the ball is poor, his positional sense too. His lack of actual shots on goal per game backs that up.

He looks good on the wing because he can get a bit of space and run at defenders, cutting into middle.

I really wish I could disagree with you, but you've probably hit more nails on the head with this post than most.

Any truth to the rumours on bluekipper

Anichebe to QPR ?

"Prays"

I too have hears this. But can't see any substance to the rumours. It's only on one persons Twitter (some random) and it's on football-rumours.com, which is highly unreliable.
