We were more clinical. We did need about 10 behind the ball for much of that match though.

No question for me that over the two games we played them they were the better footballing team.
In this game we had 5 starting players out (stones, Coleman, Baines, McCarthy and Barry) but judging by the performances of garbutt and besic they have done themselves a world of good for their future prospects.

Lacking a ruthless cutting edge though which fortunately for us we had in abundance. We could have scored another 2 or 3 tonight as well. Pretty football is all well and good but there has to be an end product and tonight the lads got really stuck in and went toe to toe with a top German side and came out on top

We did well. No question. Olic, Peresic, De Bruyn etc have been ripping up the Bundesliga this season.

Some people need to remember we were the away team against a German side who were second in the league and only lost once in their last 9 or 10 games in the league. They had scored in every one of their last ten games also. It was the perfect away performance in Europe. Sit back, soak up the pressure and then let our lads up top do the business. Well done Everton for a top european performance.

Not many teams better than Wolfsburg in the Europa League this year, and we've just crapped on them 6-1.

We were lucky at times tonight, no doubt. But I thought we played brilliantly as a team. We will only get better IMO. Perhaps premature, but I can see us doing serious damage in this competition. Buzzing for it!

.....McGeady missed a sitter but he put in an incredible shift in support of Hibbert. They were a real danger on that side and he even found time to get a few blocks in central midfield. I don't agree that he let us down and I bet his team mates are chuffed with him.

Agree mate. He put a defensive shift in tonight which when he first signed I didn't think he had in him when. Still not doing enough with the ball though.
