Vellios or Anichebe.

He was better today.

However, he's had 5 years to prove himself, Vellios had 6 months. Give the kid a chance.

Anichebe has the power and a decent finish, just think Vellios has a better tactical awareness, neither are really bad, just not good enough really, think Vellios has a better shout at a breakout season though

I think we've not seen enough of Vellios to judge him too much, but from what I have seen he's got greater assets than Vic.

He's tall and strong too but unlike Vic he's got good feet and is great aerially. That said Vic showed a bit of versatility today with his boss crossing from the wing -- that certainly came out of left field.

*gets coat

Vellios has shown more to suggest he'll make it, definitely.

Vic popped up with a few important goals last season, they were the first in a very long time however.

I honestly think everyone bags Vic much more than he deserves. Last season he was coming off the bench and doing what a sub should do, make an impact. He is still utter gash, but he wasn't completely and still isn't completely useless...just.

Anichebe v Vellios:

Appearances: 5 [7 sub] / 2 [11 sub]
Goals: 4 / 3
Assists: 0 / 0
Shots per game: 0.9 (11 shots) / 0.7 (9 shots)
Pass success rate: 62.2% (74/119 completed) / 69.3% (52/75 completed)
Aerial duels won per game: 1.3 (16/46 won) / 0.4 (5/16 won)
Key passes per game: 0.3 (4 key passes) / 0.3 (4 key passes)
Dribbles per game: 0.1 (1 dribble) / 0.1 (1 dribble)
Fouled per game: 0.8 (10 times fouled) / 0.2 (2 times fouled)
Offsides per game: 0.3 (4 total) / 0.2 (3 total)
Disposed per game: 0.8 (10 total) / 0.4 (5 total)
Crossing: 11 (0 accurate) / 1 (0 accurate)

Anything else?

I'll be honest, nothing above makes me excited.

Consider attitude and age also, there vellios would win.

And Vellios just seems to have more technical ability and room to do more while anichebe doesn't look like he can do much more.

Yeah, I should have mentioned that Tolis has age on his side of the 'argument'. And Anichebe definitely doesn't look like he's going to dramatically change his style any time soon, you're right there.
