Vdv For Arteta?

Whilst rumours have a 'source', it's a bit difficult to link it to the point of origin. And whilst i dont believe everything I read, I do weigh up what's being claimed against past experience: Everton chairman says 'player x is not for sale' > player x is sold.

We'll see. But I'll be utterly amazed if Joleon Lescott is still an Everton player by February 2nd.

I dont disagree that Evil Bill is a liar and im not saying your lying, i just wanted to read something regarding it. Guess we just have to Watch This Space, but i hope your wrong.

Both are brilliant players.

VDV has been used as a winger and just like Arteta he's better centrally.

I'm not sure who i'd rather have.

It's not gonna happen though, i'm just saying.

VDV is a superb player but i love Mikel.

If they give us the Wayne Bridge rate, which would make Lescott worth about 20m, surely we would all take that? Joleon is a very good player, but you can get world class centre backs for that kind of money. Carvalho was 19m and he's a lot better than Lescott.

Could we attract better tho? I mean how many decent 1s are floating about? Rare as rocking horseshit.

The Voice Of Doom has spoken. Lescott will not be sold and certainly not for that price

No for me, as good as Van der Vaart is he isn't what we need. He's more of a "number 10" playmaker than a central midfielder and would find it hard to adapt to English football. He's probably be shifted outwide which isn't his best position.

Arteta is an all rounder, probably not as creative as Van der Vaart but certainly more complete in terms of all round game. He's more comfortable in the out and out central role.

That's not taking anything away from Van der Vaart, he was one of my favourite players at Ajax and if we had money I'd love here.

Amazed and apologetic?

Wash ur fingers out with soap, what you have just wrote is an act of treason.

Theres nobody better than Mikel Arteta, hes the best little Spaniard we know.

No way is VDV better than Mikel, hes more of a Cahill player, but a lot more skill, hes not even close to Mikel. Not even on the same planet. But would love him here, just wouldnt swop Mikel for anybody, bar Kaka or Messi and even then i would want cash as well.

You stalking him lid ? You seem to like him just a tad too much me thinks

Well said lad . Lescot is a good player and has bags of potential . BUT if City offer anywhere near 20 million then if we are sane we would snap their wrist in 2 . I genuinely believe that if we get offered silly money for either Micky or Lescott then we should take it and build .

Leaving aside Billy Bullshit...

It's not ideal, but if needs must, and Moyes wants to strengthen elsewhere, then Lescott would be a logical sale given the Yobo/Jagielka partnership.

The thing is, though, will Moyes get all that would be fetched for any sale? I have my doubts. Some of it, IMO, would be squirreled away to pay off interest on debts run up.

True, it could well end up with Moyes getting about 5mil of it in which case we would be back to square one trying to find another Lescott. Mr Goat made an unusually decent point about lack of top quality centre backs anywhere in the world at the moment, all the best ones are getting on a bit now.
