vdm.. after 2 years enough already!!

i am trying to remember one positive contribution he has made. honestly.. an assist? i really can't think of one. he can take his 20k a week wages else where.

left wing cross (which was a good un) to beatties head which was dispatched past schwarzer in the boro goal (at goodison) - scored at the park end.

Glad he's stayin.

If he's fit, he can help us as the only other player with his ability in the squad is Arteta when it comes to taking on and beating players in the midfield and creating opportunities for the forwards.

He just needs to get fit (which he hasn't been) and get a good run of games in (which he hasn't) to show what he can do on a consistent basis.

Ok, Van Der Meyde...

Hes training with the team, just looking at his interview on evertontv and he is saying he wants to play next season, wants to wear the number 7 shirt, and wants this season to be different from the last two seasons.

He says he is training hard with the other players, and wants to play with the ball in everton.

In my opinion VDM is a great player, as he said he has been unlucky with injuries, but for the times he has played wit heverton he has played well, with skill like arteta and fernandes, and has had long shots like fernandes.

I would like to keep VDM, put him on the left wing, replace the [Poor language removed] that is osman, cos VDM is a lot better, in the interview he states his passion to play football, and to get into the first team once again. He could be a valuble asset in europe...

Also he looks abit better on the training field, maybe lost a bit of weight, he is training as much as possible i think...

[Poor language removed] Osman off, bring in VDM.

Aye I've just watched that Dom. At least he says he wants to do well..

I'm willing to give him another chance. Mainly because no other buggers are stupid enough to buy him, but you never know, he COULD come good

Teppic mate you're being too critical of him. He did produce some good performance and moyes acknowledge his contribution as well. I'm lazy to dig up that up from the web. Assist wise I'm sure he had at least a couple.
I believe the problem is not because he's not good enough, the real problem lies between him and moyes thats limiting his play time.

100% agree with this.

don't agree that osman should relinquish his place on the team for vdm. vdm is a 'big' name only. he has done very little for efc. osman has worked hard since he took the step up from the youth team and has scored some important goals. to tell osman to [Poor language removed] off is way too harsh. he might be unfashionable but he plays hard for the shirt.

I wouldnt say he was unfashionable- people want him to succeed more so than Andy Van, Ossie is a local lad that has come through the youth system- I want him to be really good but in reality he is an absolute lightweight and far too many times he flatters to deceive.

The thing is with Van De Meyde people say hes a drain on our club and he doesnt deserve to wear the shirt etc etc. But what has he actually done wrong?! Moyes hasnt picked him - no crime there. He has had injuries- no crime. When he has played he has looked the part and played pretty well, there has been whispers about drinking and breaking curfews- but they are simply that- WHISPERS. Dont believe all you read, The Sun isnt the gospel.

i believe vdm played 90 minutes just once last season? i'm sure i read that somewhere. and i think it was not even a league match. so i think most evertonians are right to question his contribution to the team. moyes has not picked him because he has been injured, because he called moyes a liar, and most importantly he did not impress enough in training when fit to be trusted with the starting shirt.

don't get me wrong.. i want every player at the club to fufil their potential but it's 2 years now for vdm. a million pounds a year on wages is a lot of money. we really should be seeing something special for that sort of money.

no but his apology was authentic, as was the ambulance that took him to A&E after 'his drink was spiked'

there have been games where he has looked [Poor language removed] and then a couple of games where he has turned the skill on and put the effort in.

vdm is definatley the betetr ball player than kilbane and pembridge for that matter, but in both the latter cases they both put the effort in and it showed - which is why the crowd didnt get on their backs.

no matter who it is, its difficult to accept a waster, especially one that seems to go from tragedy to tragedy with such consumate ease.

he played the blackburn FA cup game, and actually looked 'something like' but it was a bad day at the office for a few players and perhaps thats why his play didnt stick out as being 'not up to scratch'.

naysmith got a lot of solid booing though, why anyone expects an average LB to be a brilliant passer is unfathomable (and that extends as far as the players as well)
