VAR

There's nothing dodgy about it. Everyone moaned before VAR came in that there was inconsistency in decisions. Now they're moaning that a decision is too close to call so should be ignored. Offside is offside, regardless of whether it's 1mm or 1m deffierence.

Where there was inconsistency was Pickford not being sent off but then richarlison being sent off. That seems to be due to a misunderstanding of the laws of the game. Pickford's challenge was far worse than richarlison's as well.

It was obvious that any of our players putting a iffy tackle in in the second half was instantly getting sent off.

What made me laugh was the ex ref on bt afterwards saying that even though mane was offside they should of ignored it and let the goal stand for the good of the game.

It saved us yesterday. But seriously, get rid. The internationals showed the game works just fine with out it.
When it first came out many - me for one was against it.
I got told, its the modern way, you're a dinosaur etc?... it'll be alright
But whst about and this and that
Nah won't happen, technology innit, it'll show yay or nay

I said it should be there for the Reff to look at it and ask himself does it confirm ...or deny what I though I saw...or didn't see

All its done so far is exactly the opposite of all the things the fanboys said it would get right and eliminate.

Its that shight they've had to amend the rules to suit it and it still doesn't work properly.

But will they ditch it??

Nah.

I wish they would leave the game alone. constantly changing the rules is helping nobody, the sport got the place it is now just fine, why are people coming along thinking they can change everything about the game? The more corporate this becomes the less of a sporting spectacle it's becoming. VAR will ruin this game if it's not nipped in the bud soon.

No it isn't helping but you can't blame the ref/assistants, they have been told to interpret the rules in that way. If it looks level it's on to me, but maybe this is a way of bringing in Americans and such like who love these kind of things?

Just like the penalty at Palace the system is what is and people grumble but get over it until it benefits us and then the whole world has to pile in to say how it is wrong.

This. Whichever body part you use to determine offside there will always be close calls. VAR will get more right than a human linesman so you need to choose. What you can’t do is say it’s near enough so we will let it lgo!

Hang on, is this the official VAR thread, or is this the bent thread that makes VAR work? Should I go to the little screen & have a look myself? Hello?....

Tragic how a club who built a (tainted) title around countless iffy VAR decisions now have that very system come back to bite them. Almost Shakespearean.
