It was brought in to rectify obvious mistakes, not to see if someone’s shoulder was offside 3 passes before the goal.

I was stupidly and naively all for VAR/technology being brought in, after seeing it work really well in cricket and RL, as I thought it would even up the obvious cheating, bentness and bias for the usual suspects/teame in almost every match, from the shabite refs.

I stupidly didn't think they would corrupt, misuse and downright amplify the actual cheating and bias using technology and VAR, as they have done.

As other posters have said, the money in football is the corrupting factor - it's just not there in the other sports, where the tech works well and is an absolute godsend, addsing so much to the game and experience for supporters, who are at the grounds or those watching on tv.

I hate that it's killed celebrating a "goal" and everyone craps themselves looking at the ref/monitors to see if anything soft happened 12 passes before the goal.

The utd/gylfi goal summed the whole sorry mess up - it's a disgrace, bin it off and go back to just shabite refs favouring the "big" teams - at least we know where we stand then.
