The powers that be have a year to think how to continue to influence the outcome of matches to get round VAR. I’m sure there’ll be a lot of head scratching to be done between now and then. No doubt certain captains will be able to call for the ref to refer to VAR whilst it will be blissfully ignored at other times.

Depends how you judge them. If it’s on good impartial refereeing then they probably are the worst group. If it’s on whether they deliver the agenda sky wants to suit its tv and betting arms then they’re probably the best group in the history of the league. We still have a five team title race despite one team being embarassingly better than the others thanks to a slew of ridiculous decisions for Liverpool Arsenal United and Spurs.

A fair table would probably see City somewhere between 7 -10 points ahead of Chelsea with Liverpool a bit behind with Spurs. United would be quite a few points below us who would be in amongst the top 6. That scenario is no fun for anyone at Sky though.

I would like to see under var technology each manager of each team get 2 challenges each half, when they are reviewed if they are proved right the manager keeps his challenge if they are wrong he would lose the challenge...

If the challenge is not used in the half then the challenge ceases to exist & so on to the next half...

This like tennis & cricket would work & keep any disruption down to a minimum....

Meanwhile the ref could use var whenever he sees fit...

Any thoughts ?

Nah. That’s overkill.

Challenges aren't needed, cricket has evolved now that umpires go to the TV all the time just to certain.

This is what will happen on football eventually and tbh, I have no problem with that. I'd be more pissed off about us getting robbed off a decision that the ref didn't check than the extra 10 seconds out of the match it took.
