Had most of my tools robbed last night, found the back doors ripped open with most of the contents robbed.

Anyone reccomend a solution for next time?
The insurance company will only replace upto £500 worth of tools so im massivly out of pocket.
They will also only fix the van like for like, so I need to find an after market solution to secure the back doors.

Last thing I want to do after working all day is to empty my van each night.

Any ideas?

07 toyota hi-ace.

Got it last july,
I could have got a vivaro or transit of the same age cheaper but wanted something reliable.

Really sorry to hear it mate, that must be gutting. [Poor language removed] on the insurance's part too, I bet you pay enough.

Hope it sorts itself out soon enough, didn't the alarm go off on your van or something?

As said previously, you are best with one of those secure boxes in the back, then on the back doors one of these....

I know that virgin and british gas etc. fit british standard mortice lock cases that take a euro cylinder (like a upvc door) into the door pillars to give more security, they fit a cylinder that has a restricted key profile so that the drivers cant get copies of the keys made, if you ever buy one of these from an auction then it is difficult to get new keys IN THEORY but tbh the locks often come from the same place and they know that the companies sell them on and don't cancel the key registration, i've been able to get them for people in the past as they just check with the registered key holder that the vehicle has been sold and then they are able to re-register the key to the new owner.

You could spend an absolute fortune, as much as you want really (probably more than you want to), if the rear doors are accessible from the cab then securing from the inside is also an option.

I thought this was a transfer rumour thread about some new dutch player.

I sympathise with you mate, but the only way to avoid stuff getting robbed is to empty it mate, hard day or not. I learned that to my cost.

Garage or don't leave anything Inside your van(common sense) I expect you already thought bout this !
