I spotted Van der Meyde coming out of his gaff late this morning. I'm not sure but I reckon he'd had a rough night :

Where did you get that picture of my all time hero from, ALL HAIL RAB C NESBIT:lol:

VDM is not fit to wipe his arse with his tongue.

As for other comments, leopards and spots spring to mind, VDM is the Gashest of the Gash:angry:

hes had more than enough chances and needs moving on
me thinks

Nah I watched him all warm up. He looks a shadow of his former depressed down in the mouth self!
He was knocking balls around with supreme confidence and showing people his silky skills (which are quite impressive still). He even smashed a few in the net (which can't be said about a few others). When you watch him, he has that agression that Faddy has on the ball like he owns it.

Deffo worth a place in the side. I would have liked to have seen jags taken off today, Pienaar pushed infield and VDM on the left. Even for 15 minutes. Instead he brought Yobo on and pushed Baines up left. Not a bad decision, but there was nothing too risky about giving Andy a crack at it today.
Bit amazed he left Jags on so long, to be honest(and I've said it before in other threads) he looked a mile out of his depth. Taking far too long on the ball, unable to see the game around him develop so was chasing like a blue arsed fly to nowhere or stood rooted to the spot as the ball flew around him.
I counted eight, yes EIGHT times he was given the ball and was either dispossed(easily), intercepted or passed to a red shirt.
He might just need more time, but at this level we really can't afford to give him much more.
We REALLY cannot afford to play Jags and Nev in midfield together, they just cancel each other out and can't pass for [Poor language removed] .

So yeah, give VDM a shot in the side he can't be anymore useless than Jags at the minute and is a more natural replacement than pushing Baines up(who floundered here and there in his more attacking midfield role and ended up not really knowing where to put himself in the end).

Come on Andy, time to come good son or ship out!

Not an out and out VDM fan but Ichigo, he cannot come good unless he is given a chance and is played. Should you not be saying, "Come on Moyes give him a chance???"

I agree, why not play the lad when we were winning. Why bring on Yobo so that you can shove Baines in a left sided position, it was almost like Moyes was making a point to VDM,

"You [Poor language removed] me over, I'm showing you how close you can get, and that's as close as its going to be, now [Poor language removed] off".

I agree with most of Moyes's decisions, the only times I disagree with him, we win the game so its hard to not see that he got it right.

I just think we missed the opportunity to see what Yakubu can do for 90 minutes (has he played 90 yet?) and what if anything VDM can do. What better game to play him in when we are winning 2-0.

Bizarre, absolutely bizarre.

Well I think we all know about Anichebe, and we all know his obvious weaknesses, well I seem to notice it, although some don't.

But why spend 11million quid on a striker and not play him the full 90. What is the point?

I remember Michael Owen doing [Poor language removed] all for 90 minutes, not getting a sniff and then banging in his only chance. Why? because he has a great record for scoring goals. Yakubu has a great record for scoring goals. So why take him off before he has scored?

Anichebe is never going to be a regular premiership footballer, mark my words, once Vaughan is back he will be the new kid on the block and I wouldn't be suprised if Victor goes the same way as Branch, Jeffers and Cadamarteri.

Yes absolutely, who the [Poor language removed] does he think he is? I mean get some ability first before you can swagger around a football pitch like you own the fecking place.

I'm just not a fan of his because he has the chip on his shoulder. Ok, its good to have passion, but he needs to channel it in a different way that doesn't involve him gobbing off.

Alan Smith would have 50 caps by now if he wasn't such a ****. Talk with your feet and then your mouth.

Not an out and out VDM fan but Ichigo, he cannot come good unless he is given a chance and is played. Should you not be saying, "Come on Moyes give him a chance???"

Possibly but it is on Andy to impress enough in training to encourage Moyes to consider playing him when a substitution is needed in a situation where he could be used, like today.

Today, Moyes brought on Yobo with about 15 minutes remaining. He ended up playing a formation they have tried before with Baines pushing on to left wing and Lescott playing leftback(first and last time he tried it was with Nuno on left wing to disastrous effect).
This formation was quite odd for Baines as it played him out of position and left him at times wondering what his role was and how he should be moving around the play and if he should be attacking or blocking for Lescott.

Now Van der Meyde a (mercurial in his day) left sided attacking dynamo was sat on the bench less than 10ft from Moyes when he was subbing off Faddy and bringing on Yobo with the idea of pushing Baines up the left wing.
So why didn't he choose him as the sub instead of Yobo (the backline was working very well as it was)? because he favoured Baines over VDM in an attacking winger role.
So it is on Andy to imprint his ability on Moyes brain so he is his first thought when that gameplan comes in to his head.
Andy has been out of Moyes' plans for a long time and is only just now coming back in on the fringe. So given time and hardwork, he will get his chance. But he needs to bust ass to be given it!

I'm having a laugh at those who say he's had his chance on the pitch.

When?

He's hardly been on the pitch. Most of that due to injuries.

Sorry but I'll reserve judgement AFTER he gets a run of games. Not BEFORE.
