check van den hauwe on speedie around about 9 minutes in.

be the ref. what would you have given for a challenge like that?

sidenote... listen to the pre match exchanges between welsby and greavsie. damn, i forgot how good we were.

Straight red nowadays without a doubht. They were the days with loads of teams in with a shout to win the league.

What i would give for a goal like ratcliffes in 85/86:lol: to beat th rs in a couple of weeks.

There's a piece in Graeme Sharps book about Psycho in a match against QPR in 1984 at Loftus Rd. An all-for -one fight broke out and Psycho , afraid of missing out, ran half the length of the pitch and clouted the first QPR player he came to-------- and got sent off.
They don't make 'em like that anymore :D

Just found this looking for photos for a preview. You won that trophy and more Pat lid.

Love him, he Re-kickstarted my own playing career. I decided to 'retire' at the then ripe old age of 36. Bought a family club membership for me and the kids, who tbh, although they were Blues were a bit young to appreciate it all ( I even put my RS Dad's name on it so he got a birthday card signed by the club, heh-heh).
So V's Norwich there we are front and well not centre but towards the Park End, so right in front of us PvdH slides the ball and man out AND gets the throw and is laughing his a*se off, after the throw he turns and volleys the ball from about 3 yds range right into the reffs nuts and laughs his a*se off even more and giving it all sorts of crocodile tears cod sympathy to the reff.
His sheer joy at paying rekindled my love for playing and I went on for another 7years winning more in those 7 years than I did in the previous 18 ( which was nowt )

Terry Horlock was the only player that I ever saw that stood face to face with Pat. It was a night game at Goodison and Pat had just volleyed a Bristol City ( I think) player at the corner of the St.End and Bullens when Terry Horlock came flying over to get involved, he saw the look in Pat's eyes and just stood staring into them as their heads touched...Horlock reluctantly walked away.
