The rain, it raineth every day
Impact sub : Alan Harper.
Have to agree with this, loved his attitude.Peter Reid for me. He was the piece of the jigsaw that made the difference.
Good shout.Paul Power
You've spelt Gravesen and Pienaar wrongWhat players do you think have brought the greatest value to Everton and will be remembered for their impact ( I will keep this from our eighties greats onwards)
But we bought Lineker as a striker and strike he did. That contribution in one season has got merit. I think his ability did overshadow how we played and I agree it cost us but what an incredible impact he made. Our finest striker since Dean. Although Latchford is close in my book and Lineker was not here long enough to build an affinity.….Howard Kendall but he’s not on the list. Great player in arguably our best ever team, because of his association with the club he’s brought back as Manager and is the most successful in our history. Close thread.
No idea how Lineker makes it, only here one season and we won nowt, won the league the season before and then the season after he left. Some very odd ones on there, to be the best ‘value’ means having a valuable contribution to our history.
I have not. I have spelt them incorrectly. You've spelt Gravesen and Pienaar wrong
Correct it then please for the sake of my OCDI have not. I have spelt them incorrectly.
I remember a lot of fans, at the time, questioning why we bought Paul Power and claiming he was "past it", but he turned out to be a shrewd purchase.Good shout.
Proper value player...looked about 50 iirc ...
Tried to but cant see how.Correct it then please for the sake of my OCD
And from the outside putting it politely he just look pretty average,I was underwhelmed, how Paul proved me wrong, wow, what a fantastic couple of years he gave us,so much so Sheeds was moved to centre midfield when he was available again from injuryI remember a lot of fans, at the time, questioning why we bought Paul Power and claiming he was "past it", but he turned out to be a shrewd purchase.
They do. Bent always managed to be a pain to opposition defences just by constantly harrying them. Not much of a striker but a 100% player.GravesEn*.
Martyn and Marcus Bent deserve a shout. Birthday boy Gough to.
