Just got back from the pub after watching the final against Canada. Gotta say, it sure it nice to finally root for a national team with real talent. USA is starting to gain a nice foothold in world football, and I'm here for it.
Looking at the tournament line up I think you guys should be aiming for semi-finals. Winning the tournament also not out of the question with home advantage but Argentina, Brazil would have to be considered favourites you'd think.Great end to a great week. Gio MOTM for me even with the halftime sub. Just an immense half and frankly he has to start when healthy. Balogun is the real deal.
The bad is the depth is still a big question. De la Torre and Johnny aren't midfielders you can rely on, Scally is a worker but feels limited and Pepi is just a clear step down even if he's got something about him. But we don't have to qualify so who cares about depth? The first XI and a couple of subs are absolute gas and I can't wait to see how we get on next summer. Let's win Copa America and put a big statement out ahead of 2026.
I'd have Uruguay as more talented as well. Two upsets is plausible. I'm just thrilled with the progress from 2016 to what looks like will be the 2024 team. Worlds away talent wise.Looking at the tournament line up I think you guys should be aiming for semi-finals. Depends how the draw pans out I guess. 3 upsets might not be necessaryI'd have Uruguay as more talented as well. Two upsets is plausible. I'm just thrilled with the progress from 2016 to what looks like will be the 2024 team. Worlds away talent wise.
Yeah. Saw that later.Gold Cup games count so essentially they aren't suspended
Not just that for me, I'm also an FC Dallas fan so I'm also excited to see Jesus Ferreira start for the US.Everton/USMNT crossover match tonight. Demarai Gray is now Jamaican. One time switch from England and will probably play against us tonight. I should have driven the 4 hours to Chicago and gone to the match.
Don't care about FC Dallas but I hope he gets on the score sheet. He could use a goal or two tonight. Not just that for me, I'm also an FC Dallas fan so I'm also excited to see Jesus Ferreira start for the US.
