I wonder how it would be categorised as 'fair value'...

If we finished above United and Arsenal then surely thats 'exposure' for the sponsor of a more successful team.

If its based on revenue then it wouldnt make logical sense as then no side below Spurs on £35mil would be able to compete and thus it would become a monopoly.

I wonder how much would be 'allowed'...lets say I had the money and wanted to have ZATARA emblazoned on the front of the shirt for £65mil then whats stopping me?
I suspect that as shirt sponsorship is effectively paying for advertising space then the fair value element would consider potential audience for that advertising. it would be hard to argue that ManU and the Arse currently have a far larger global audience than we do?

What this fella says really.

Good luck to anybody arguing in a court of law that a Premier League club cant match what another Premier League gets in a sponsorship deal.

The fair market value is the 64m United get, everybody else gets below market value.

1. Manchester United - £64 million (Chevrolet)
2. Manchester City - £45 million (Etihad)
3. Arsenal - £40 million (Fly Emirates)
4. Chelsea - £40 million (Yokohama)
5. Liverpool - £40 million (Standard Chartered)
6. Tottenham - £35 million (AIA)
7. West Ham - £10 million (Betway)
8. Everton - £9.6 million (SportPesa)
9. Wolves - £8 million (ManBetX)
10. Southampton - £7.5 million (LD Sports)
11. Burnley - £7.5 million (LoveBet)
12. Crystal Palace - £6.5 million (ManBetX)
13. Newcastle - £6.5 million (Fun88)
14. Watford - £6.5 million (Sportsbet.io)
15. Aston Villa - £6 million (W88)
16. Bournemouth - £5 million (M88)
17. Leicester - £4 million (King Power)
18. Sheffield United - £3.5 million (USG)
19. Norwich - £3 million (Dafabet)
20. Brighton - £1.5 million (American Express)

As you can see, we have plenty of wiggle room.

I still dont think it will be an Usmanov company, external money sources are cleaner and easier on his pocket.
As someone mentioned below, I wouldn't mind an American Car company that just gushing with cash trying to fully break into the market. I wouldn't mind Ford or hell even a Jap company Honda. Give us £36m just because if totenham can get that kind of money, so can we. I wouldnt even mind FIAT for that Italia love

Yeah i know what you mean, i quite like the idea of Tesla even though i don't have much time for Elon Musk.

So people on here are saying the shirt sponsorship is unlikely to go above £20m. So is there a problem with £20 Megafon shirt sponsorship which could rise over the years, and a USM Goodison Park sponsorship at say £20m a year for three years until we get to Bramley Moore which would then set a starting point for the new stadium naming rights ? Problem solved ?

There isnt a problem tho.

In my very uneducated and utterly clueless opinion, I see no reason why we couldnt match Uniteds 64m on shirt sponsor.

There are plenty of ways for Usmanov to give us money without even bending the rules nevermind breaking them.

We are merely just people on the internet, I know some of us think we have a clue, but compared to Usmanov and Moshiri, we really havent got a clue and im pretty sure they have ALL the answers.

What people need to consider is that Moshiri has bought the club to turn a profit, in the end he will want to get his money back, plus a massive cherry on top, which is why I dont think he will be ploughing money after money into the club constantly.

Hes already 350m down so far, plus the purchase price, hes looking at close to 500m invested all being told and that doesnt even include the various USM deals we have ongoing. But hes not stupid, he knows he only turns a profit if we are successful on the pitch, so that will take money. I suppose its about how much he thinks a successful club with a world-class stadium will be worth in say 2025 and beyond.

That of course depends on the level of success we can achieve.

Who decides the Mancs are worth 64M of sponsoring but we can only get 20M? It’s so corrupt and blatantly wrong.
