Usmanov

I know that some people never stop wanting a caped crusader figure to come into their lives and solve problems that look intractable, but it's puzzling when you see them grab for it when the more obvious reason for £60M of spending this summer is that we've taken in via player sales £70M. It is the very definition of the Everton Father Christmas Syndrome.

Besides that, most of the people looking to claim it's Usmanov's cash are the same people that when there's controversy in the media about Moshiri's connections to Usmanov are the first to pour scorn on the link, saying "there's nothing to see here".

It makes no sense.

The spending by and large since Moshiri arrived here has been raised through massive player sales and an equally massive hike in tv revenue. It's just desperate to think otherwise. There is no factual basis for seeing it any other way.

Is that the £10M left over from the player sales this summer?

That needs to go toward a new CB or winger...or DM....or RB.....
We will throw money at those positions and sign a 17 year old Brazilian for going on £40m, enjoy the ride Dave, Uncle Usmanov is here to stay

The 17 year old Brazilian story:

a) if it's true, it's literally pie in the sky. Cash for a player who cant help us now; and at an age when they'll see minimal playing time if they ever do arrive here.
b ) is it true? I have my doubts. I see nothing official. And even if it is, what makes this any more likely that we see a player bought in advance that we never ever see play...Onyekuru, Tarashaj?

Ohh I don't think its true either it just doesn't seem a very Everton thing to do. If it were true though and we dropped that amount of money on him not a chance we don't play him with an eye of him taking over from Gylfi, not getting myself excited over it though.

I have no idea who we will sign but I'm going with Kean, Winger and CDM on a permanent. RB and CB on loan to tide us over

I hope you're right mate.

Leaving aside the silly matter of being right or wrong on Brands, no one wants to see an Everton team taking to the pitch this season the way we are right now. We'd be lucky to finish top half.

Kean + Gomes + Delph = £60M

sale of

Gueye + Lookman + Vlasic = £70M
But your claims for Father Christmas are nonsense and you didn't address the fees received this summer being in excess of fees paid out.

It's got nothing to do with Usmanov...playing trading has "got this". In fact, we still have a surplus to spend of £10M (plus any more sales that can be made).

What are you saying here Dave....good work by Brands?

Ohh agreed, if we went in the way we are now then top 10 would be a struggle. Couple of injuries away from playing Holgate, Tom Davies and Walcott for any extended period of time isn't what we need. This is Everton we always seem to get some injuries so not a great position as we are now, but, have to believe we will get a few more in

We will, but we need people out too. I can see another £60M coming from that source. Add that to the surplus of £10M we have so far and we've got the basis for a couple more players there. Then it's down to whether the club are prepared to spend out over and above player trading.

I hope you have created a parody of yourself because if this is you I feel sorry for you
