Usmanov

Usmanov wanted Arsenal to spend big on the pitch in order to challenge the best in Europe and he was prepared to help fund that. Kroenke blocked him and denied him a place on the board so he couldn’t push forward that strategy.

He tried to buy out Kroenke and was also blocked, so without any influence at the club despite owning a third of it, he’s eventually had to admit defeat and leave.

So wear his shoes, you’re a multi billionaire who’s not used to not getting your own way, and you now resent Kroenke severely. Would you relish the opportunity to shove his nose in it? Oh yes.

From a money making perspective, he’s just sold his shares in Arsenal that see the club valued at £1.8BN. What did Moshiri pay for half of Everton again? And what will his eventual 71% have cost him? See the disparity? There’s money to be made at Everton in terms of massively increasing the value of the equity.
I think the money perspective alone is enough to make Usmanov look at investing in the Premiership again. There are other clubs which certainly would be attractive to an investor, but if the new stadium at BMD goes ahead it really would make Everton as a stand out project for several reasons.

The club is already filling an antiquated stadium with 40,000 fans for every game.
The brand name is out there , not as well known as we would like, the basis is there to build it up.
The club has for the last decade or more already been operating in the top half of the Premiership. There are good players already at the club , state of the art facilities at Finch Farm and a successful academy.

A quality manager( hopefully , already in place) and a transfer budget used sensibly could easily push Everton into the mix for top four/ six without the outlay of hundreds of millions.

Absolutely, posted some time ago that for Moshiri, Everton was a cheap buy when all things considered.

Arsenal are a massive team globally, were not.
Then there's the problem of getting world class players in. To get someone to say no to a cl club and come here your looking at 9 figure fees and 400-500k a week in wages to take us to the next level. Your looking at about 4 world class players costing in the region of 100-150m. Then your looking at a 500m stadium.

A steady 3-4 seasons of cl football, only then can you sell the club.
Your literally looking at a man city type revolution, and it will probably take the best part of a decade to do it. That's assuming the top 6 haven't broken away into a euro league

This is true but dont forget City, they weren't a massive global team by any stretch of the imagination before the sheikh turned up, so it took them a few years to sort out having a draw...etc only it was easier for them, we have 6 sides to catch and a stadium to build, they got a stadium and only had 4 sides to catch and 2 of them went a bit backwards to make it easier for city

If Usmanov were to "invest" in Everton the situation in my book is very, very different to that which existed within Arsenal. Moshiri and Usmanov have been business associates and friends for a great number of years. I can for see that if Usmanov did come into our club as an equal shareholder there would be agreement from both on the way forward.to the benefit of the club and for themselves.

I do firmly believe if this comes about the relationship between the two will be symbiotic.
The relationship between Moshiri and Usmanov has become confused
So let’s put it straight
Usmanov is Moshiri’s Boss
Usmanov employs Moshiri as his chief accountant and buisness advisor
Usmanov gave Moshiri his place on various company boards that Usmanov controls
Usmanov gave Moshiri his shares in his companies
Usmanov gave Moshiri his Arsenal shares
Usmanov bought Moshiri’s shares back off him and told him to go and buy Everton before those Americans that were sniffing around at the time
Yes they are friends , the same way any 2 people who work closely together who have similar interests become friends and confidants
Everything Moshiri has he got throug Usmanov

Make no mistake though their is only one man calling the shots here and it ain’t Moshiri

The comparison to Arsenal is fair but largely irrelevant for the discussion now. He has deemed Arsenal an unworthy investment or at least that £550m is worth more than his stake. The big reason why was him having no control of the direction of the club was a central reason why. That is simply not an obstacle he would face at Everton and therefore the difference in size is irrelevant.

The top 6 as a united body is fracturing at the seams. Tottenham are struggling currently, Arsenal are also fraying and the long term trend for Chelsea is problematic. There is every opportunity for other sides to get in and amongst it. We represent the best opportunity for it.

The Premier league is far too big a cash cow for sides to go off and make a Euro league. The CL revenue has not grown at anything like the rate the PL has. Why would the PL teams sacrifice that advantage, plus a healthy pay off of the CL for a CL style league on it's own? Each year that goes by makes that less likely.

I suspect the stadium will come in at less than 500 million, the spurs stadium was heavily under budget in the end in London. I suspect we are looking at 350-400 million. There is every opportunity for that to be paid at a sustainable rate back, with the entirety of the interest payments being paid back by (some of) the increase in ticket sales. The opportunities then to sell commercial boxes, and generate associated sponsorship revenues give enormous benefits.

Everton as a brand is an extremely unique and untapped brand. We are arguably unrivalled in our history and tradition in the game. For example Liverpool, in spite of all their trophies have had fairly recent success (they didn't win the FA cup for the first 87 years of our existence). The quirky stories are essential in creating a brand, a history and ultimately being monetised. Everton have a history, being founder members of both the football and the Premier League that few other clubs can compete with. Usmanov being an investor will be aware of this, and aware of the opportunities if the brand can find a way to monetise itself.

We are currently very close to the top 6. It would require very little additional revenues to get there. We could well do it this season.

Perhaps most importantly, he gets a seat and an opportunity to make a bundle from an area of huge opportunity. Liverpool the city like Everton the club is also an untapped resource. With Brexit coming there are opportunities abounding.

Any serious investor would take Everton seriously. We have plans to build a world class stadium in arguably the best situated sports area in the country (on a world known World Heritage site). We play in the biggest sports Franchise in the world. We are a central member of that, and have been from the moment it was formed to the modern day and everything in between (there is not another club who could claim such centrality). We are available to buy for a relative pittance due to a prior share price agreement and could well break the top 6 before he even puts a penny in. Everything is in place to build a super club, in a super stadium in a A1 location in a rejuvenated UK city. All for less than what he received for his share of Arsenal.

Lets not try to paint this is as some sort of illogical manouvre.

City and Chelsea were tiny teams compared to Everton when they got investment. If anything approaching the same level of infrastructure and spending were given to Everton, with the history and tradition we would become like Real Madrid frankly.

3-4 seasons of CL football would raise the asking price. Buying now and seeing his investment rise with Everton's value is the sensible way to do it.

Stadium will be financed by the council, another factor making us attractive to usmanov which in turn makes the stadium loan more attractive to the council.

It's inevitable as far as I'm concerned. Cannot think of a more viable proposition for anyone wanting to make money on a football club in the ext ten years.

Their relationship would work very similarly to what they would have planned for Arsenal. The fact that the idea for an "Arsenal of the North" was abounded when Moshiri came should give an indication as to what they wanted to do.

Both men want to make money. Having a successful sports team will help them do that. They are not going to let the crude maths behind shareholder % get in the way of that. If it really meant that much, you write the debt off as equity and redraw the shareholder balance to suit both men.

Spurs are currently valued at 1.2 billion. Usmanov can buy into Everton at 100 million for around a 40% stake. Football clubs values are soaring all the time. If he gets us to where Spurs are (A regular top 6 team who wins nothing) his stake would appreciate in value by over 400 million. Thats before inflation kicks in. Thats before any money is made off the land area he may or may not either own, or get referral fees for business to build on in Liverpool. It's a very simple decision.

It is a simple decision and one myself @roydo and others have been saying since Moshiri came on board
Usmanov is the driver in all this
Why people can’t see this and what you stated in your post is beyond me
As @roydo says too many dots, too many coincidences and too much money at stake and to be made for this to be all haphazard

Good post again mate , I very much thimk along all the same lines as yourself here.
The only one I cant agree with I'm afraid is the stadium cost.
It was projected @ 300 mil not no long ago , now its commonplace refered to @ 500-550 mil.
Considering all the complexities of building over or in a dock can bring I can see this price fluctuate/increase over the years till built.
But the rest of your post ....spot on.

Indeed, it’s an investment no brainer.......
