Usmanov

No Dave he wasn't entangled at all, him and Moshiri bought shares relatively early in in the company they subsequently sold those shares years ago for a huge profit, neither was anything more ever than a shareholder
There's a connection there to shredded wheat head's son-in-law Kushner via another company he (Usmanov) part owned (DST USA) said to have been used to funnel Russian state cash to a figure close to Kushner: Yuri Milner. Milner and Kushner were business partners. It's these links Mueller is investigating.

Of course, you could always take the more sanguine view that a former Uzbeki-state chieftain cum oligarch with close links to Putin is completely above suspicion. That's also an option, I suppose.

Plus John Moores was a quaker wasn’t he? I have always found the religious thing very amusing. i am a Catholic, but i have never felt Everton to be a Catholic (or any other denomination) club. The only religious link I can genuinely point to is that supporting it has often felt like purgatory!
Even for someone who is non-Catholic I've often felt the need to self-flagellate after watching us on occasions the past few seasons.

I hope for Usmanov but I feel that maybe Moshiri
might want to go alone with this.

I think Usmanov will provide support for the stadium in terms of "mates rates" on the steel from USM in terms of deal on the stadium rights.

Moshiri has a lot of positives but we still have lots of work on the commercial side as well as the pitch.

I tend to agree. I think if he does want to invest in a PL club it would be us. However I think this is Moshiri's thing and Usmanov will want his own club even though theyre mates. If I had to guess right now I believe he'll end up buying a team like Milan and invest in us/help Moshiri via lucrative sponsorships

Yes Abramovich had close links to Putin as well, Chelsea fans have always regretted him funding all Chelsea's , premiership trophies, cups, European adventures and superstar players. And I'm sure most of us would to :coffee:

Bahahahahhhahahahahahahhahaah I’m going to make one of these socks as a prototype and send it to the club.

Kushner has borrowed money from just about every Russian bwnk/oligarch (He is a terrible businessman) but the FBI aren't going to be subpoena everyone in eastern Europe. They haven't the remit or the reach. It also doesn't mean there is anything out if the ordinary in any deals involving USM more so than any other deal done in the City if London every hour of every day.

Arsenal fans are gutted, like seriously gutted that he’s sold his shares and may be heading to us. They knew the ambition of the guy and what he was willing to give in order to make Arsenal a super power in the game and now there’s a chance he could turn his attention and vast fortune towards us (although I’m sceptical this will happen) they are bricking it.
Evertonians of my generation tend to suffer cherophobia thanks to too many false dawns and broken promises but It would be impossible not to get excited if this actually happened.

Curious Dave at you referring to him as a former Uzbeki state chieftain.

Care to explain when he ran any part of the country?

His ties to Putin will be a problem for him mate, especially with the regime we have in charge. That will likely increase if that buffoon Johnson gets in who is Russophobic and has and will continue to pick ridiculous fights with Putin. That is a worry I have over this. Hopefully Corbyn wins.

For a man who would be careful with words and aware of their impact, Usmanovs comments to Bloomberg surely have significance for us. But if something big were to transpire, I think it would not be any time soon. Nothing happens without twists and turns.

I get that Everton is Moshiri's project and chance to achive something from out of Usmanov's shadow, but I wouldn't buy into talk of shadow investment / silent partnership. If he was to pitch up here and contribute significant sums of money, then he would only do so as I see it replacing Moshiri as majority shareholder / de facto owner. If Moshiri's ego is not modest enough to accomodate that, then perhaps Usmanov would just feel it best to let his friend and associate get on with things himself.

I don't like the massive money in football and the way the game has gone, but I have to say if Usmanov is willing to invest here, it would be perhaps our only opportunity missed to compete with the elite.

It's not everyone, it's people close to Putin and it means that any of them living in the west (and especially a puppet U.S. state like Britain) will be finding life very uncomfortable with American intelligence communities breathing down their necks.
