There's nothing more dangerous than trusting somebody with a partial knowledge.

I'm well aware of the Esk's history and in fact, I have been vocal and challenged him on many points in the past when I think he has assumed things, including his eagerness to dismiss links to Usmanov.

Nonetheless, I pointed out that I think he makes a valid point regarding the conduct of Moshiri so far. It may well be that Moshiri is acting in concert with Usmanov and it is all part of a master plan, but I just question whether what we have seen so far is quite the big splash we would have seen if Usmanov was really involved/coming on board.

That said, there are still a lot of factors which suggest it is possible - their history together, Usmanov's position at Arsenal, etc. It's just that some people on here seem convinced it is a foregone conclusion, I'm not quite there yet.

It does matter though mate at what age, because if your a footy mad person as he is reported as being, then your not gonna wait till 37 to support someone, and if your not footy mad then i doubt the depth of support is gonna be that much.

Saying that he's attended more games for us this season than for Arsenal, once a blue and all that ;)

I do think it matters. Of course some people pick up the big later in life. Yet when someone picks up a big for a team in another country at the same time as acquiring a stake in them, it's unlikely it's as died in the wool as others.

We should also look at the question of fandom. If I was wealthy I might move abroad and invest in a team. I may even grow to admire and follow said team. However it's unlikely to be as strong a bond as Everton.

Rumour has it that Abramovich was on his way to buy Spurs when he flew over Chelsea’s ground and seen the room for expansion and changed his mind.
I doubt very much wether any of these foreign owners have the passion for the club that they declare.
To some it’s a buisness deal to others like the Arabs it’s an ego trip and a publicity stunt.

...he might fancy the Reds, then him and his partner could monopolise the whole City.

I don't believe that one, I think it was more the fact of owning the club in the Royal borough of Kensington & Chelsea - and all for £140m

The statement from Usmanov, if it was on the game show 3-2-1, It would end up with Ted Rogers saying...

'Welcome to Everton Alisher'

The key parts are the value of Arsenal and the custodian bit at the end. Previously he has steadfastly said 'No' to any hint of selling.

That's the bit for me, he's opened the door for questions with the last paragraph. Every other press release prior stated he planned to leave the shares for his future family generations.

unbelievable the amount of people who despite reading a statement to the contrary continue to delude themselves that Usmanov is buying into Everton, totally mad, has it occurred to you that Fat Alisher actually thinks Moshiri is a clueless tit when it comes to football and running a football club and he has actually pulled a right stroke by getting him as far away from Arsenal as possible.Based on what we have seen of this Moshiri so far there is no doubt he hasnt got a clue when it comes to anything football related.......however continue to put your own spin on it.

I do tend to agree.
