Usmanov cannot invest in us as he holds shares in Arsenal. If he sold his shares in Arsenal he could then invest in us but he couldn't throw loads of cash at us because of FFP. The days of owners throwing cash into clubs has stopped if he were to use his companies to sponser Everton's training ground or shirt etc then the authorities would be all over it as dodgy. However as he doesn't own any part of Everton at present it would appear less suspicious if his companies invested money into everton . Perhaps this is a prelude to him becoming an investor - he puts in money now as an outsider. The club benefits by showing a greater income which will benefit future years FFP. When he eventually does come on board there would be no need to breach FFP by excessive investments as it would have been taken care of before he came on board

There's plenty of ways around the rules. This USM naming rights deal is a prime example. Does anybody honestly think that putting USM in front of the name of Everton's training ground is worth the amount we're getting ?

Usmanov is actually very popular in Russia btw, unlike most Oligarchs he actually has done a lot of very good work which has had real benefits to the people, and a huge amount of his fortune he has earned through amazingly insightful investments in none Russian companies before the share prices exploded.

But you have red a critical article about him in some newspaper so will bow down to your judgement, he's the devil incarnate mate, oh for a true blue owner with a shiny pot of gold at the end of that Raindow to buy us
