Usmanov

Opens the door to further investment down the line. Small steps.

5 year deal though?

I almost had a heart attack this morning when i thought it was £75mil for the training ground naming rights. That was a genius move to pump in cash legally and get around FFP.

After reading all the 'finer details' (or at least the papers lol) it just seems like a standard deal with the only 'interesting' part which @chicoazul pointed out was that USM are the ones sponsoring the training ground which is odd.

Probably opens an opportunity to let some dirty money flow through the joint Shawshank style lol

Hey we'll take it.

@Elong @chicoazul

The link chico put in the moshiri thread to bloomies article states that if were in Europe UEFA may sanction us for this agreement...

Unless its at fair market value which makes sense to me....we havent circumvented anything in fact and perhaps we would have been penalised after all if we were in Europe in the next 5 years if it had been a larger amount...makes sense now.

So we're all correct....odd that USM are sponsoring the training ground BUT done at a 'fair price' to boost up the shirt sponsorship from £11mil to £15mil...not a huge amount but within the rules.

Interesting...

Quoting myself here;

@The Esk do you agree with the above?

I also think that if we get into UEFA next season OR other teams sponsorship deals increase we may see renegotiated agreements each season to allow the money funnelled into the club this way to grow whilst still being within the rules of 'fair market value'.

Simple, easy and yet clever way to push some cash through whilst keeping everything 'in-house'.

Whether this means Usmanov is going to come is still 'up in the air' It could just be Moshiri alone but USM assisting on a gentlemens agreement or a side letter.

One more thing;

@The Esk @chicoazul @Elong

If our shirt sponsor is USM then I think that means Usmanov will end up coming onboard...basically a 2 fingers to Kroenke.

On the other hand, if (and @bluestevon will know more) the steel company becomes the sponsor i can see us getting an amazing stadium with them using it to advertise what they can do globally....

If Gazprom or similar...not much lol

I want our sponsor to be EFC RIGS ELECTIONS.

Either way, it's a positive outcome for us, and starts the process of a very powerful and wealthy man coming in to help an already wealthy man.

I dont think Usmanov (nor moshiri) would want USM associated with a poor team either....could be some big moves in the market....

As soon as Moshiri came onboard, I was certain at some point we would see Usmanov. The guy is loaded, beyond belief, and can not get a majority hold on Arsenal. Moshiri is his friend and business partner. Todays news is just the beginning in my view. Im 100% convinced that when Kenwright moves on, Usmanov will step in. There is more to his involvement than meets the eye.

For everything wrong with Kenwright and the way things have been run at our great club - and I have been in favor of him moving on for many years - I think he has played a blinder, and ensured Everton FC a successful future by arranging a quite brilliant takeover for the good of our club.

Im an optimist yes (come on, I'm and Everton supporter ffs I have to be right). But good times are ahead for us, I really believe that.

The good thing about this is that if the shirt sponsor is one of USM holdings, Metalloinvest or something, as well then Moshiri will be able to change the terms of the contact at 'x' point during its terms to up the cash.

Ivan Streshinsky, Member of the Board of Directors of USM Holdings said: 'The naming of Finch Farm, and the extensive package of marketing rights, provides USM and the businesses within our group with unique year-round global media exposure. We've done considerable research into what this partnership can deliver for us and we're very excited about the difference this will make as we continue to build our brands.'

Haha very good Ivan. lol

usmanov is directly or indirectly strengthening Everton by 'sponsoring' huge amounts of money to us.

considering we are in direct competion with arsenal in the premier league and cup competitions means he is clashing his interests.

why on earth would he want to do that.

theres got to me more to this !

the life of an Everton fan, could it be anymore rollercoaster!
There is of course more to this than meets the eye.

In the immediate term this is Everton securing a major new financial backer while negotiating with Peel re their land sale and proposed development. No co-incidence this news lands just as LCC publicly laid out their investment plans for the surrounding Bramley Moore area. It is all falling into place and I feel it was right of the club not to have disclosed this at the AGM and have the whole thing derailed.

I suspect that USM will be the first of many generous sponsors to help us build a very competitive team on the field while the club is transformed off it. I also suspect that Usmanov will be our joint owner with Moshiri for the first game in our new waterfront home.

Fantastic news, well in Farhad!
