upcoming films

It might not take a genius but it takes someone with good eyesight to read that when they're watching it on their phone at 05:30 while getting ready for work. :p

I'm interested to see how the story progresses but the trailer makes it look like the films going to be:

AN ALIEN!!
EXPLOSIONS!!

We don't even need to wonder what the Alien's going to look like.
Might be that the Aliens are actually a bit part player, and this is more focused on the engineers and their seeming desire to destroy humanity. I think there is going to be more to it than just the Alien romping through the crew.

It was terrible IMO, massively boring.
I quite enjoyed it. There were a couple of scenes that were ridiculous, like Charlize Theron's character running with the roll, where as Rapace eventually decided to go perpendicular and thus escape the giant donut.

I thought it was well shot, had a good story, and save a few bad choices (that I didn't feel like majorly detracted from the rest of the movie) it was a solid outing for me.

She was the saving grace for me. Solid number 3 on my list ;)

I thought her, Fassbender and Elba were all very good in it. I wasn't as impressed with Noomi Rapace's character though.

Very true, do like Fassbender and especially Elba - just the whole film in general never really got going for me, yet the wife loved it and went to watch it again with her friends.

I'd have given it a 6/10.

So there are folk on Reddit who are thinking that this movie might have a bit of 'Halo' (yes the video game) in the plot.

Basically, for those who dont know Halo, you start off fighting aliens, and discover a large ringworld. It soon transpires that the aliens aren't the real threat, but a parasitic entity that is controlled through a hive mind. The previous galactic tenants created the ringworlds as a weapon to destroy this parasite. Although it does it in a unique way, it doesn't kill the parasite, it kills their food....ie, all sentient life.

What if, the engineers created the xenomorphs as a way to kill off a parasite, though the xenomorphs are there to kill everything the parasite could infect.

It is a strong theory, and I reckon it might have a bit of traction. I have paraphrased a lot of it, so I am sure there are many intricacies that I have left out, but I am at work and don't want to appear like I am doing nothing....(although I am upgrading firmware on some gear, which is a time intensive task, but requires little attention during the process)
